Draught @ brewpub. Golden colour, almost bright. Fresh malt aroma cracks with grain. Fresh, simple country lager. On the surface there seems little to it, but it is well-balanced and impeccably drinkable.

Draft @ brewpub. Light gold with nice head and nice lace. Hoppy aroma is totally herbal. Quaffable palate has no stickiness and pretty high carbonation. Very very good dry helles with a beautiful balance and a blissfully floral hoppy finish. Delish. More!

fom vass at du sonne in bischberg. clear light yellow colored body with lively effervescence and a white cream puff head. estery, dusty, minerally dough in the nose - dirty, wonderfully hoppy and zesty. crisp and full-bodied, the perfect combination. prickly, zesty hop bitterness... this could easily be called a pils. bitter, dry, fresh, just really wonderful all-around.

Bottle @ home. Clear pale yellow colour with a small to medium sized white head. Smells malts, somewhat hoppy, grassy. Tastes grassy, malty, somewhat cardboard but in a pleasant way. Thin to medium body, medium carbo.

MartinT (7677) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 23, 2006
Impressions from the bar stool:
-Tight foam hills protrude from the krug, I have no idea of its shade of gold.
-Hay and wooden hops first peek through the nose.
-Ah, the soft carbonation of nature.
-Some citrus fruit lighten the toasty hay.
-A meditative, finishing hop bitterness ensues.
-Herbal tea and grass notes appear in the aroma as well.
-A frank, well-crafted session lager, nothing less.

On tap at the Stöhrenkeller, Bamberg.

On tap at fuerth night flea markets, served by girl guides. Pale amber with a steady head; aroma of peach syrup and hay; prickly and delicious with more bitterness than expected of a helles

Malt in the aroma. Full bodied, malty and some hopbitterness, moving on to a bitter aftertaste. Well made helles, with enough hops to convince. Nasty by-flavors are absent.

UPDATED: NOV 20, 2011 Rerate: Getting some minerally notes as well now, light sulphur retronasal. Still a great Helles. Bottle
Pale green golden, dense creamy and lacing head. Herbal hop aroma. Light but firm malt base with a nice aromatic herbal hop profile, ends on a dry note. A shame we couldn’t get it on tap.
