Malzig, typische Scotch Ale Noten. Insgesamt zu harmlos, um besonders zu sein.

(BraufactuM Clan) Bottle 750 ml at home, served into a snifter, ABV 6.4% Deep red ruby colour on the body, with two fingers of thick, beige head on top. Very good retention, medium lacing on the glass. Aroma has plenty of red fruits, marmalade, malts, caramel, toffee. Taste has toasted malts, sugar, caramel, red fruits, dust, soil, some metallic notes on the finish. Quite sweet all in all. Medium thick body, good carbonation, slightly dry palate but also sticky at the same time. Not bad, a bit "dirty" but definitely enjoyable.

Bottle, 75cl. It pours an unclear body with a reddish brown color. A small, beige head sits on top. The aroma is lightly roasted, with a fruity touch. Some licorice and dried figs. Caramel hints. It’s full-bodied and semi-sweet on the palate, with a soft carbonation. Caramel, roasted malts, some smoked notes and fig notes. Lasting finish. Quite pleasant this one, easy drinkable too. Wouldn’t mind having this again. 141228

330 ml bottle, No. 1101, BB date 31.10.2013, from CITTI-Markt Flensburg. ABV is 6.4%, hop is Fuggles. Hazy dark reddish brown colour, moderate off-white head. Strong sweetish aroma of caramel malts, hints of molasses. The sweet flavour is also dominated by caramel malts and molasses, while a slight fruity acidity helps the drinkability. Hardly any bitterness. Not a favourite of mine.

75 cl bottle @ Timo A.
Pours clear mahogany color with a huge off-white head. Sadly some cardboard on the aroma, caramel malts, faint herbal notes and toffee. Sweet ripe fruits, plums, caramel, sweet malts, some distant honey and molasses. Dry malty palate. Sweet and enjoyable but sadly feels a bit old and off.

750 ml bottle. Thanks olio. Pours a dark amber brown colour with a small beige head. Aroma of strong wet cardboard notes, plum and toffee. Flavour is rather sweet and heavy with toffee, earthiness, plums, some bread and red berries. Medium bodied. A bit harsh and unbalanced.

75cl bottle@TriState Tasting II. Tastes like a light and powdery Dunkelbock full of earth-trodden dry autumn leaves, slight peat, with virtually no taste evolution as it warms and a bit of an airy/hollow core where the yeast profile should be: quite soulless rendition of a Scotch ale for that hefty Braufactum price tag.
