UPDATED: SEP 6, 2015 Bottle courtesy of Tammy Tuck, thank you ma’am! I have to caveat this rating by saying the bottle was about 18 months old, so not quite yet into the "terrible twos." Clear golden color, white head. Nice fruity aroma. Taste starts with a bit of fruit, then a bitter finish. Plain. Second bottle, brought back from from Berlin by a State Department colleague, thanks! Aroma has subtle white pepper and straw. Taste is subtle bitter straw. Flavor, aroma slightly different but numerically the same.

Bottle from Galeria Kaufhof, Köln
5.1% ABV on the front label, 5.5% ABV on the back label

Yellow color, with a straw hue. The aroma is mild, with mainly an herbaceous character, with a very light lemony touch; not enough to be interesting. The mouthfeel is dry and smooth, and the body is not too weak; there is a moderate malt and cereals flavor, with a light chamomile touch, and a quite strong bitterness.
As it’s difficult to make an interesting Kölsch, this one is not alone among the boring ones.

Bottle. A lightly hazy one, pale golden in color and with a small, dense, off-white head. Some lacings. Quite fruity flavor with pine cones and resins. Some tropical notes too. Bready hints in the flavor, with a quite nice bitterness. Tropical fruit hints, pear and some apples. Medium body, soft carbonation. Lasting fruity finish. Dry on the palate with a soft carbonation. Quite nice this one, tasteful and easy drinkable. 141228
