COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Pours a deep ebony that shines ruby red when held to the light. Thick headed sporting aromas of grainy malt, dry/chalky coffee beans, bakers chocolate and a hint of sherry. A light, dry body supports a flavor that is predominantly and strangely tart and citrusy with hints of bittersweet chocolate and caramel. Dry, chalky finish. The tartness isn’t working for me but I bet this would be great with a fruit and cream based dessert: creme brulee, cheesecake, or a fruit tart.

Pours beautiful black color with a very nice beige head. nose is a little sweet and sour (roasted barley). medium body, smooth and medium carbonation. The beer is very enjoyable and is just as a German quality schwarzbier should be. Recommend. Got it in Berlin in Kaufhof Galerie at Alexanderplatz.

Bottle by 31.03.2013. Nose is a rich, dark roast. Pours dark (black-)brown with a rocky light brown head. Taste is lightly sour but very dry; elegant, strong roast pervades, no ash or tar. Killer stout-y mouthfeel, medium body just crisp enough and man, that awesome dry roast. I’ve really come to like these guys, everything is well-crafted.

Bottle. [thanks Søren]
Pours almost completely black with a medium, staying, creamy, light-beige head. Aroma has mild roasted malts, fine chocolate, soft liqourice. Highish carbonation, dryish and fairly light mouthfeel. Flavour is elegant with complex liqourice, softly salty, some herbal dryness, a touch of chocolate and some softly roasted malts. A good schwarz.

Trockener Nachgeschmack. Insgesamt gelungen! 8/9/9/11/10/9

Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin tan head. The aroma has notes of caramel, malt, and bread. The flavor is sweet with notes fo malt, caramel, and bread, leading to a dry finish, where the caramel note lingers. Thanks yespr for sharing.
