1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottled, from Systembolaget. Hazy near black, rich, firm head. Fruity nose with some coffee and metal. Mid dry with clean mouthfeel. Cocoa powder and vanilla, some metal. Light resiny bitterness. Why on earth is it impossible to find proper traditional German beers in Sweden, yet we get this mediocre modern style pseudo-micro junk?

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. It’s a dark brown beer, slightly hazy, topped by a dense, two-finger sized beige head. Some lacings occur. Roasted malts, caramel and some bread on the nose, a tad too weak I think. The flavor is a bit on the sweet side, with chocolate hints and some bitterness. Smooth on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation level. Roasted and hop bitter finish. A pleasant and quite tasteful beer, but a bit sweet for a schwarzbier I think. 120914
