COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

330 ml bottle. Clear, deep amber body with a nice, dense beige head. Rather mild in aroma, mainly malty. Flavor is a bit sweet, light, clean, soft malt. Not much bitterness. A pleasant and really balanced version of a Schwarzbier, nice and no nonsense.

From a 650ml bottle purchased in Hamburg. Almost black with a reddish hue and a big beige-coloured head that laces decently. Nose has dark chocolate roasty malts with subtle coffee and caramel notes. Flavour is mild malty sweetness with a mild grassy hop bitterness. Palate is smooth and medium bodied. A fine Schwarzbier but lacks the smokiness of the best examples of this style.

Brown cola colored beer with an off-white head. Aromas of slight smoke and coffee. Tastes of dark chocolate, mild coffee roast, some earthy flavors, and a puff of smoke. Bittersweet finish, a bit lactic. Smooth and tasty. Sweeter than I expected, but it works.
