Hopfen: Magnum, Saphir Malz: Münchner, Karamell-, Röstmalz Darkon is inspired by traditional recipes. Nothing but dark malts, are used to create the characteristically mild roasted aromas of bitter chocolate and toffee. Darkon besinnt sich auf die traditionelle Herstellung der Schwarzbiere und wird ausschließlich mit dunklen Malzen gebraut. Für milde Röstaromen wird ein Teil des Malzes im Trommelröstverfahren hergestellt.

330 ml bottle. Clear, deep amber body with a nice, dense beige head. Rather mild in aroma, mainly malty. Flavor is a bit sweet, light, clean, soft malt. Not much bitterness. A pleasant and really balanced version of a Schwarzbier, nice and no nonsense.

Flasche - Pechschwarzes Bier, beige-braune Schaumkrone. Intensive Aromen von Schokolade, Toffee, dunklem Malz. Im Abgang leicht bitter. Der Körper eher mit Tendenz ins Wässrige. Schönes, leichtes Schwarzbier.

Bottle at Frankfurt Airport. Dark brown body with toasty tan head. Nose is malts and caramel, roasty and toasty. Taste also of malts and sweet in the beginning. Nice and toasty gets more bitter in the end. Pretty good.

330ml bottle - thanks OX and Dovecot Xmas party! (6+:4:6+:4:13=3.3++)
Lovely rich chocolater roast aroma. Very dark brown, brief beige head. Good rich roasty taste too, bready and toasty. Finish is toasty and a little burnt, pleasantly sweet. Super drinkable schwarz, not as sweet as many, which is good.

This seems to be the darth vader of beers. It is dark, black and a classic. It has roast aroma, coffee, toffee (mildly) and a great fitting bitterness. A tturly majestic aftertaste. A great beer on the top twenty.

Dark brown beer, retentive medium tan head. Nose is roasty, malty, metallic notes. Flavor is bready malt, mild sweetness and roast, near the finish there’s even some chocolate. Finish is bitter and roasty, mild coffee. Not bad, pretty quaffable.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2015 Really dark color with ruby hues and mocha head. Aroma has intensely roasted malts, almost smoky. Tastes like slightly sweet coffee with chocolate notes. Body is quite light but smooth. A well made schwarzbier but nothing special.

0,65 l Flasche.
