COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Stilbeschreibung: Das Märzen war zu den Zeiten, in denen es noch keinen Eiskeller gab, das zuletzt, nämlich im März eingebraute Bier. Es sollte bis zur neuen Saison, die im Oktober begann, halten. Es wurde daher stärker eingebraut und hatte ausgeprägte Malzaromen. Besonderheiten: Für Marzus wurde ein spezielles Maischverfahren angewandt und ein hoher Gehalt an Caramelmalzen verwendet, die für die Bernsteinfarbe und die starken Aromen verantwortlich sind. Verkostungsnotiz: Die Farbe von Caramel, mit starker Schaumbildung. Duftet nach Malz, Kandiszucker und Orangenzesten. Schäumt im Mund angenehm leicht auf. Schmeckt trocken. Aromen von Schwarzbrot ergänzen sich mit Anklängen von gerösteten Maroni und Caramel, hinterlegt von einem ausgewogenen Bitterton. Zeigt eine solide Länge.

Bottle (0,75l No:1041) from the shop at Hoffstättner brewery. Dark Amber colour, Big Head. Very sweet, fruity caramel nose. Brown sugar in flavour, with a balanced tart finish.

Bottle at home. High creamy and lasting off-white head. Clear and good looking dark amber body. Mild and sweet honey berries aroma. Highly carbonated dry malty caramel straw flavor with fruity notes. Short sweet finish.

660 ml bottle. Rated on 18.4.2014. Pours a dark copper colour with a white foamy head. Nice lacing. Aroma of bread, nuts and caramel. Flavour of bread, harsh grainy notes, wood and grass. Medium bodied and a harsh grainy finish. Could use a heavier body.

Bottle. Red amber body with light tan head. Aroma is malt liquorice bread. Taste is malt some caramel and liquorice and some hops. Aftertaste is malts and some hop bitterness. Very nice.

Bottle. Light amber, average and fully diminishing head. Moderate malty and sweetish aroma, some caramel, faint hoppyness. Body is medium, malty and sweetish flavor, some caramel and light bread with faint hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and sweetish, some caramel and faint bread, light sharp metal, light hoppyness. Caramel sweetish märzen with metal in the finish. Way too sweet for me.
