COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Stilbeschreibung: Original englisches Porter wurde Anfang des 18. Jahrhunderts in London entwickelt.

Pours redish black with a small, creamy, off-white film head. Aroma has chocolate, light roasted, a bit of coffee. Medium carbonation, fine dry and light grainy mouthfeel. Flavour has chocolate, roasted, liqourice, light coffee. Pleasant grainy bitter malty bitterness with a hint of almonds.

Pours a deep ebony with light head. Aroma of roasted grains, light smoke, hints of freshly brewed espresso and chocolate, and a light fruitiness reminiscent of prunes. Perfectly smooth creamy body. Flavors of solventy alcohol that fades as the beer warms, sweet malt, chocolate and a lightly tart fruitiness in the finish. A solid porter that would taste great with a grilled NY strip.

Bottle MHD 30.06.2013 -- and the label says it has Brett! Super low fill line, though. Noble roast nose, dry and bitter, light smoke and heavy tarry burned notes. Rich brown-black body with a creamy light brown head. Sweetish taste to start, dries out only slightly, faint coffee sour in with the low bitterness. Smooth/creamy medium0light body is a little watery, good coffee crema/espresso in with pissy New England roast, good black bread/pump but no fruitiness. An elegance here, but not worth the price (nor the time waiting for the Brett to make itself known at all).

The neck of the bottle broke when I opened it and it turned into one of the worst gushers I have experienced so far - loads and loads of amber foam. The bit I could try safely was nice enough: A bit of roast, coffee and chocolate can be detected. dry mouthfeel.

Black color; huge brownish head. Elegant aroma of roasted malt, roasted nuts, biscuity. Good mouthfeel, balanced; strong flavor of dark chocolate, roasted malts, light leather; correct bitterness, while the final gets just drier, because of the roastiness.
Clean and very good.

10/11/12/12/12/12
