Golden yellow, clear. Medium white head. Aroma has pine, malt and wood. Taste has malt, pine, metal and wood. A bit too malty, but a good IPA still.

UXO (773) - CANADA - JUN 10, 2015
Pours clear pale amber with two fingers of rocky off-white head, excellent retention and good lacing. (4/5) Nose is caramel malt, grassy/herbal, citrus, tropical fruit, light mint. (5/10) Taste is mild to moderate sweet, mild bitter. (5/10) Medium body tending to watery, moderate carbonation, medium duration bitter finish. (4/5) Kind of a blend of English and American Pales: the aromas have lots of noble hops and caramel malt, but there’s also some citrus and tropical fruit, as well as something interesting I’ve not encountered before. It’s almost minty, and I wonder whether it’s the Polaris hops, a variety with which I’m unfamiliar. Any way you slice it, though, it’s pretty cool to see craft beers starting to come out of Germany. Some hay and fruits in aroma. Bready notes in taste with solid hints of grassy hops. Watery texture, bitter finish. Rather English pale ale.

ElDesmadre (2218) - Mikołów, POLAND - MAY 26, 2015
Bottle. Citrus, pineapple and mint profile. Quite interesting but lacking flavour punch. Also, I miss some more crispness. I think it is most aptly described as a table beer with a nice aroma.

Draught. Clear deep golden liquid with medium white head. Aroma of citrus, tangerine, mango, brett, hay, diacetyl and grain. Taste is dry and light to medium bitter with notes of citrus, diacetyl, brett and grain. Light to medium bodied with medium carbonation. Not good.

Bottle. 5.2%. Best before 03.06.16. Pours a clear, light golden, with an off-white/light tan head. Decent lacing. Fresh, hoppy aroma with a metallic note. Fruity as well, with a hint of strawberries. Flavour is hoppy and metallic. Bit of malt in the background. Bit fruity as it warms. Dry, bitter finish with a hint of liquorice and a lingering light grassy note. Palate feels a tiny bit oily. Overall okay. Not the best of the style, but nice enough, though I could do without the metallic notes. 10.05.15.
