Bottle 65cl, a dark amber beer with good head. Nose is on caramel and toasted caramel, light smoked notes. Aroma is on grain, caramel, sweet chocolate, smoked touch, finish is floral. Long caramel and grainy after-taste, bit disappointed;

(Bottle). Aroma and taste of butterscotch, smoke, sweet malt, caramel and other things I do not like (except smoked beer). This was a miserable "Rauchbier" for me, just too much sweetness and flavor of butterscotch. Unable to drink up all the beer!

Bottle. Dark brown color, nice frothy foam head. Smokey aromas, bacon, overripe banana, copper. Interesting. Strong smokey taste (very!), quite bitter (bbq charcoal, dark dark chocolate, raw mushrooms). It turns a little sweeter in the aftertaste (mostly sun dried tomatoes). Interesting, but I would not put this on my favorites list.

On tap @ Bent elbow - tap puts a reddish rusty brown cloudy beer in the glass with a puffy white cap. Aroma is complex with mix of spice, banana, fruits, nutty malt tones with a smokey undertone. The smoke is definitely managed well. Medium bodied for a weizen, slick mouth feel. Flavour is a complex mix of hefeweizen tastes (fruits and spice with sturdy toasty-nutty malts and a smoke undercurrent, hops are complimentary and add some sharp balance but the malts and fruit carry through to a wet finish with a light smoke flair at the end. A well crafted unique wheat brew. I’ll order more.

50cl bottle pours with a slightly murky mahogany body that supports a thin tan head. The offers up a mix of caramel malts, some bacony smoke, a bit of spicy molasses and then cherry to date like dark fruity esters. The taste is similar with sweet dark fruity esters, a molasses note and then smokiness that has a thin ring of bacon and is a little too light in the face off the malts and esters going on in the foreground. It gets into mild spiciness with black licorice and black strap molasses. Overall this is too sweet and a bit too fruity to really enjoy the smokiness.
