Ganske søt i grunnen. Medium kropp. Medium karbonering.

Pours reddish brown. Nose is wheat, a bit smoky, a bit caramelly. Taste is a smoky wheat beer. Effervescent, a bit bitter on the finish. I don't like the aftertaste, it lingers and is odd. Not great. No aecht schlerenka.

Roog is an interesting beer that I have been saving up, but now had the opportunity to taste at the BKL in Munich. This brown ale is smooth as silk in its approach. It is slightly malty and smoky, but adequately smoky without too much dominance. One notices elements of Weizen without much frill. A good combo of Rauchbier and Weizen that works, but it is not the most drinkable, more a Geniesser-Bier.

[Tap] Listed as ’Braufactum Rauch Weizen’. Cloudy pour is deep brown in color. Average amount of head on top. Aromas of smoky malts, meat, caramel and grains. Flavors of smoke, vanilla, wheat malt sweetness, banana and bacon. Lingering sweet and smokey finish. Balance is decent. Creamy mouthfeel. Tasting notes from 10/2014.
