The head is creamy and robust, the body brown. It smells roasty, malty, a bit raisin. The taste is mild but malty, a bit roastmalty, bit raisin-creamy, full bodied, nice dunkel! 12/10/11/10/11/11
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 EithCubes (4194) - New Jersey, USA - JUL 21, 2012
Draught in the Weisses Brauhaus, dark brown-black with a frothy white head. Pretty, sweet caramel nose, lightly tangy taste overtaken by light dusty earth, low bitterness with a hint of roast bordering on ash. Medium body.
3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 rozsoma (329) - HUNGARY - APR 12, 2012
On tap, Schneider Weisses Brauhaus, Munich. I think it is a schwarzbier rather than a dunkel. Aroma of nuts, cereal, hay, bread. I could bite to it. Roasty malts and coffee notes, really complex, just a bit watery texture. Good one.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 AshtonMcCobb (1442) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JAN 28, 2012
At Schneider Weisse Bar in Munich. Pours chestnut brown with a nicely proportioned head and gentle bubbles. The nose has toffee and biscuits. The taste has ginger nut biscuits. The palate is medium bodied with a tangy texture and a so-so finish. Overall, solid.
3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 TEJA (1146) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JAN 10, 2012
Sampled last christmas in Munich.
Very tasty appearence with a thick beige head over a chessnut colored beer. Not much aroma just a tuch of light roasted malts. The taste is light roasted with a good bitterness. Huge drinkabillity.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 JorisPPattyn (7298) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - OCT 10, 2011
Draught Beautiful reddish-cola coloured beer with a medium, stable light-tan head. Sweet bread, breadcrust, toffee and maplesyrup. Taste is drier than the nose, with chestnut, and a leafy finish. Again maplesyrup, but diluted and not overly sweet. Very slick, seems much better bodied than it really is. Another good, if unspectacular Dunkles - then again, the style is unspectacular.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 BenH (1333) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - SEP 13, 2011
Pours brown with off white head. Lots of caramel and toffee, less of a chocolate note than a lot of dunkers but nice
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 crossovert (4536) - Wisconsin, USA - JUN 10, 2011
A sweet and robust dunkel, darker in color, but it still goes down easy, especially on a cool Munich night.
