Bottle: Deep golden, small to mid-sized creamy white head, leaving a little lace; woody hoppy and solid sweetish-malty nose with a light touch of alcohol in the background; solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; woody hops and pale malt and light traces of alcohol in the relatively dry bitter-sweet finish. Quite dry, pleasant Doppebock.......

500ml bottle. Clear deep orangey-golden colour with small macropore white head. Intense caramel malt aroma, sweet and slightly alcoholic. Taste is sweet, caramel, inharmonic bitter hop note. Disappointing.

Hellmalziger, daneben muffig-süßer Antrunk. Im Mittelteil werden alkoholische Noten offensichtlich, die sich zusammen mit dem muffigen Aroma störend auswirken. Penetrant, klebrig, getreidig-malzig. Dazu etwas säuerlich. Im Abgang alkoholisch, muffig, disharmonisch, modrig.Wenig würzig. 7/6/6/7/8/6

Im Geruch süß-malzig und marginal röstig. Süßlicher Antrunk. Dann noch süßer und malzig. Mittig wird die Malzigkeit durch marzipan- und honigartige Töne begleitet. Im Abschied leicht ölig wirkend und ein wenig alkoholisch nachbrennend. Schweres Bockbier und nicht so leicht trinkbar. Hat jedoch geschmackliche Qualitäten.Test vom 22.12.2009, Gebinde: Glasflasche

Reddish golden brown color with a little foam and less carbonation. The smell is minimal alcoholic, alsomalty sweet and spicy. Starts strongly aromatic and subtly sweet, slightly alcoholic. The finish shows spicy aromas, little alcoholic, still pleasantly malty sweet.

Bottle looks good, the beer in the glass zippy, fine creamy head. Starts very strong, a bit soapy-alcoholic, very dry and metallically. Finish unbalanced, still dry and somehow hard. Should be more spicy. Not good.

It’s dark golden with a huge, creamy head. The aroma has notes of candy sugar, caramel and hay. The sweet flavour has notes of malt, candy sugar, caramel, light alcohol in an OK and warming way, and the hops used gives it a slightly spicy touch. It’s quite nice.

Bottled (from bierzwerg.de). Golden colour, not much head. Aroma is caramel malts, alcohol and some mild grassy and herbal notes. Flavour is sweet malts, alcohol, some herbs as well as mild grassy notes.

Clear medium orange amber color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, toasted, molasses, sugar, light caramel, maple syrup - honey notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily and sticky, carbonation is soft. [20100225]
