Yuck. This is only the second dark hefe that I've tried, maybe I just don't like this type of beer. Muddy water appearance with a sharp, bitter aroma. Equally bitter and watery flavor. Unbalanced. Not good at all.

Bottle from Kris Wines. Slightly murky orange-brown colour. Smells fruity, with cloves, pear, plum and a hint of banana. Taste is nice blend of fruity wheat beer and a hint of malt. A very pleasant and thirst quenching glass of beer.

Murky orange brown colour with small off-white head.
Fruity banana aroma with some caramel and some artificial touch.
Caramel malt, wheat and mild yeast in flavour.
Soft carbonation.

UPDATED: JUL 4, 2011 (bottled) This is like drinking a nice breakfast cereal. Drank from a Weisse glass it looked like a Weisse beer (go figure;) Nose is banana esters,clove ,dark malts that are pretty rich, ; A tangy palate ;rich and a bit sugary...Customary bananas..cloves, caramel and apple acidity ; Easy to drink and plesant dark weissbier .

6 Bananaey butter, but a kind of smooth aroma.
3 Dark muddy orange.
5 Sharpish. Banana. Minerals. Cleaning fluid.
3 Fairly full palate.
10- Odd one, and the score flatters it, as it’s ot as good as an average 2.7.

Bottled at HBF2011. Slightly sweetish nose. Pale beige head. Slightly hazy amber colour. Wheaty slightly sour taste with some banana notes. Mild hoppiness.

It’s unclear, dark orange-colored with a huge, creamy head. The aroma is light with fruity notes of banana and other fruit and wheat. The flavour is sweet and has the same fruity notes as the aroma, but also a little caramel and the finish is slightly yeasty. It’s not one of the best, a bit “tame”.

50 cL bottle. Pours cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma is spiced, phenolic and dry malty. Light roasted malty and phenolic dry yeasty. Dry estery and mild wheaty finish.

Bottle, 5.3%. Hazy amber colour. Small stable creamy off-white head. Mild bready flavour, hint of toffee or caramel. Good mouthfeel. Taste slightly past BB, but is not.

Light brown, cloudy. Mainly wheaty tartness on the nose with a hint of toast. On the palate - similar. Good toastiness but dominated by apple tartness. This lends the beer a hint of refreshment and some dryness late.

Bottle, got at the brewery. Cloudy orange (where’s the schwartz?) and a fizzy short-lasting head. Sweet aroma has banana. Seems candylike at first but then mellows into something more mature, drier, and freshly herbal. The flavors are better. The palate is a little thin, fizzy but the flavors still linger long on the tongue. Nice chocolate maltiness with estery overtones. Ends up being quite enjoyable in spite of the initial assessment.
