COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Black Sheep Dolly is what you get when four brewers from three different continents collaborate and hit the beer scene in Freiburg. It has an abv of 6.9% yet it is dangerously smooth. Amarillo and Simcoe hops give our beer an explosion of flowery and citrus aroma, backed by a spicy finish that leaves you longing for another sip.

The base malt is an even mixture of German Pilsner and American Two Row sprinkled with some Munich and hints of Vienna Malts that add to the malt complexity.

Dolly is the first craft beer from Freiburg, it is brewed according to the Reinheitsgebot with a color, aroma, and taste all its own. It is massively hopped, unabashedly bold, and uniquely refreshing making it a beer unlike the rest of the flock!

Enjoy – Cheers.

Huge thanks to quack-duck for that one! Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts fine hoppy, modest dry, some grasy-spicy notes. Mild bitter background. Hints of lemon, peaches, apricot. Finish more balanced. Quite drinkable. Nice one!

[backlog] 04-08-15 / 330ml bottle. Orange hazy colour. Intense hop aroma in the nose. Medium sweet. Tropic fruit like passionfruit, citurs and grapefruit notes, some pine. Bitter finish. I started rating my beers with Untappd and a few basic notes. Now I want to rate them on ratebeer. So my rating sometimes lack some information. Just ignore it, it is for my personal statistics. Untappd-Rating 3.75/5

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden beer with a nice white creamy head on top. Aroma of tropical fruits, hint of caramel, tangerine and sweet citrus. Flavor is very well balanced, bittersweet citrus, light grassy notes and a moderately sweet aftertaste with a nice creamy mouthfeel. Carbonation is nice and subtle, bitterness not too overwhelming and overall a very nice beer.

33cl bottle. Hazy golden colour with a thin white head. Poor retention. Citrus, orange zest, honey and light pine in the aroma. Average carbonation and medium body. Taste is medium bitter with orange zest notes. Dry and bitter long finish. Some arrogancy. Overall, a good beer.

Hazy, golden (EBC8), pillowy light off white head. Aromas of hay, flower-honey, caramel, lychee, orange zest, resinous, light diacetyl hovering around unfortunately and nothing to do in an IPA. Fine perlage, light slick, medium body. Fruity-caramel sweetness with fruity hop bitterness folowed by resinous bitterness on the medium lasting finish.

Fresh smooth beginning. Malty, smooth. lots of fresh piney hops. The body is full and round. Smooth fresh, lots of pine, fresh, intense. Lots of floral hops, not too much bitterness, round and great!

Flasche - Trübgoldene Farbe, dicker, fester Schaum. Fruchtiger Duft und Aromen, letztere werden aber schnell vom massiven Bitterhopfen überlagert. Sehr frisch. Im Abgang noch einmal Honigmelone. Gut!

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, golden colour with a blond medium-sized foamy head. Fruity and slightly flowery hoppy aroma with notes of citrus, orange blossoms and exotic accents, accompanied by mildly bready malt. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Balanced malty and hoppy flavours with notes of bread and loads of fruity and flowery hoppy accents; the brew has the almost perfect bitterness - sweetness ratio I´ve experienced with IPAs; balanced and lasting finish with exotic fruity spots. 07.V.16

0.33l bottle from trade with bartlebier. Oh, the peachy sweetness just punches you in the nose buds. Super fruit and sweet with a massive rush of piney tropical fruits. Looks good also, with a cloudy really glowing orange colored body under a tall and lasting eggshell colored head that’s leaving lots of small dots and curtains down the sides of the glass. There’s also a little bit of summery strawberries on the nose. Like it. It has a nice and oily texture in the mouth and it’s just below average and somewhat prickling and almost creamy on the carbonation bubbles. There’s lots of bitter marmalade tones in the taste. Sweet and malty, yet really balanced by a rush of hops. Lingering piney bitterness and a little bit of hedge. A really refreshing one, very much so after the first first lawnmower session of the season. Thanks Frank! 11.05.2016
