COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Editor’s note: IBU increased from 60 to 74 and ABV went from 6.6 to 6.2 (late 2013)

Smells nice, little citrus and some caramel. Kinda soft carbonation though, and the mouthfeel is a little watery. Nice hint of some toasted malt though. Darker than I expected. Not bad.

A dark orange colour, a head is almost white and medium. The nose has grapefruits, some tropical nuancees, nice fructose, hint of chalk and pine needles. Taste is strongly piney, sour grapefruits, tight bitterness, resin in the end. Medium bodied, quite strong carbonation. Strongly hopped, but still not totally succesfully, more fruits and smoother palate would be better.

Draught keg at Kings Arms E2. Aroma hints at malt sweetness, almost barleywine-like, but with a big grassy element. Flavour is intriguing - grassy & herbal hops, with a finish like gulping cooling cucumber & lime-spiked water on a hot day. Moreish.

BBE 23.12.14 - Pours dark orange with a massive foamy head. Aroma of grass, ripe fruits, caramely malts and citrus. Taste is sweet, herbal and grassy with some caramely malts and sweet syrup. Finish is sweet, malty and mildly grassy with some vegetables and berries. Doesn’t feel very fresh.
