COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Hazy amber color with a gradient orange tones with sediments at bottom, really nice, with a fluffy and big white head that do not last longer but keep a nice lacing until the end. Aroma is fruity and hoppy, hints of mandarin, orange and tamarindo. Flavor is very hoppy with citrus and sweet notes. Low carbonation and medium body with a long bitter finish.

Maker: BrauKunstKeller, Michelstadt, Germany. *** Beer: Madarina IPA (bottled, unfiltered, 330ml) *** Style: India Pale Ale (IPA) *** ALC.VOL.: 6.1% *** "We are the first brewery in the world to have used the new German hop variety Mandarina to create an IPA. By using lightly-roasted malts and a bit of smoked malt we achieved a full body in the beer that works nicely with the citrusy bouquet of the Mandarina hops." [brewery note, my translation] *** Colour: Hazy deep orange, big fluffy white head. *** Nose: Tangerines, some yeast, a hint of sweet malts. *** Texture: Medium body, a bit fizzy (active carbonation). *** Taste: A whiff of sweet oranges just before a heavy dose of resinous pinewood kicks in. Herbs, too. The stark bitterness eases off a bit between the middle to the finish, with citrus fruit now a faint memory. Finish is still explicitly hoppy, resinous and bitter, with the citrus a welcome return guest in the aftertaste. *** Impressions: Powerfully resinous IPA, thus closer to an APA, actually. Fruit is present but easily overpowered by the pinewood. Very well done, maybe a bit too fizzy.

Draught. Slightly hazy pale yellow, white stable head. Aroma of citrus fruits, oranges, grapefruit, no tangerines but it’s great anyway :P In taste fruity, quite dry, solid bitterness. Could have more body and the finish is a bit harsh. In overal quite good IPA, the best I drunk from BrauKunstKeller.

L: -pours a hazy golden with a big, frothy, white head. -great head retension -medium carbonation visible S: -lemons,oranges,tangerines,grapefruit with a slight resiny note T: -Follows the nose completely -due to the lighter malt base the 55 IBUs feel more bitter than expected F: -medium carbonation,light-medium body O: Another great IPA by Braukunstkeller, maybe a tad too light on the finish

Bottle. A fruity taste, light sour. The white creamy-foamy head has a normal size and duration. The body is cloudy and orange. A bitter and fruity taste, the finish is rather medical. The body is light to medium strong, very dry and creamy with a lively carbonation.

Bottle 33 cl. Cloudy golden with a tiny, white head. Somewhat unpleasant chemical aroma blending in with some coconut. Medium body, very fruity and again these coconut accents with a very bitter backbone. Rough indeed. Needs some fine tuning. 210515
