Bottled at PBF. Black, small beige head. Licorice and tar upfront. Mid sweet with full body. Chocolate overrun by yeast and tar. Quite and immature.

(Bottled, 1.0l) Very dark brown with a small beige head. Neutral-malty, lightly roasty aroma with some tannins. Somewhat vegetably flavor with red wine and roasty-burned malt. Medium body, slightly thin palate with lowish carbonation. Quite close to the regular version, not really smoothed out, probably due to the tannins from the wine barrel.

Bottled (thanks KimJohansen!). Pitch black colour, small beige head. Aroma is mild sour wooden notes, some roasted malts and mild berries. Flavour is roasted malts, sour wood, mild acidic notes as well. Drinkingwise this was probably the worst of the three.

TBone (16159) - Pori, FINLAND - JUL 4, 2009
Bottled 1 ltr (PBF). Opaque black, small beige head. Light tarry smokey nose, which is much lighter than in bourbon barrel version. Harsh color malty flavor, some licorice and tobacco ash. This is not as mellow as bourbon version, which is the best of three.

On tap at Copenhagen Beerfestival. It pours a black body, topped by a minimal-sized brown head. Vinous aroma with alcohol, roasted malts, coffee and sweetness. Smooth, full-bodied and warming in the mouth, giving flavors of roasted malts, coffee, some vanilla, bitterness, sweetness and a tiny smoked touch. At least the smoke is much less evident than in the Conditioned and Bourbon editions. Bitter finish, both hop-bitter and coffee-bitter. A true sipper, just lovely. (090515)

Rune (11120) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JUN 3, 2009
Dark coloured body with a rustic tint. Filmy, tan head. Big laceworks on the glass. Oaky sweetness and port-like smell. Sweet dark chocolate malts with a touch of smoke and joined by dark fruity acidity. Lingering aftertaste with modest impact of alcohol. Heavy drinking. Good, without being top notch (taster at CBF 16.05 and 250ml on tap at Plan B, 18.05.2009).

(Draught at Plan B, Copenhagen, 23 May 2009) Black colour with brief, brown head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of dark chocolate, coffee, honey and vanilla. Malty, roasted taste with sweet coffee, dark chocolate, honey, vanilla and a generous coffee bitterness in the finish. Full body, fairly sweet. Very nice beer.
