3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 chriso (7254) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 21, 2007
Draught at Kobehavnske Oldage, May 2006. In the festival programme simply as Braunstein Wheat, but other ratings from the same event have been put here, so I guess this is the right place. Hazy, pale straw colour. More lemon than estery fruit or bananas. Maybe a touch of spice/clove but it is very restrained. Crisp and fresh mouthfeel. In common with the other Braunstein beers I tried, it had an ultra clean feel but perhaps lacked a little in character. But there’s no denying that this is a refreshing and thirst quenching beer.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Svesse (5195) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - AUG 3, 2008
(Draught at Plan B, Copenhagen, 24 July 2008) Muddy reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Sourish nose with notes of chocolate, wheat and hints of vinegar. Sour, malty taste with caramel, orange and toffee. Definitely on the sour side. Supposed to be like this?
2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 KnutAlbert (5186) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUN 4, 2006
Draft at plan b. Tap labeled Summer Wheat, not Crystal Wheat. Not their best beer. Rather light and sweet.
