3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
RB #1500, thanks to sk8viking for the bottle: 50 cL bottle. Pours hazy brown/amber with a little lacing off-white head. Sweet caramel malty and grapefruit aroma, very inviting. Low carbonation, which I assume is a flaw of the bottled version and sadly makes the beer rather flat. Flavour is roasted malt, slight dark caramel flavour. Crisp. Fruity and subdued bitterness rising towards the finish where the flavour gets very dry. Not quite as good as the initial handbrew, but still quite enjoyable.
Rating of the homebrew: Pours unfiltered orange. Aroma is a strong aroma hops note. Fantastic clean aroma hoppy with a distinct hit of the caramel malt profile. Extremely impressive palate from the aroma hops blending nicely in with the caramel malt. Fantastic bitter finish. 8-4-8-4-16 4.0

Draft. An amber beer with a thick orange head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malt and berries. The flavor is sweet malty - of a good malt blend with notes of caramel, fruit, and spicy hops, leading to a bitter finish with a touch of toffee.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
(On tap) Clear, warm arangey brown with a small, creamy, off-white head leaving laces - a very impressive lacework actually. Lightly fruity, citrusy nose. Somewhat watery body, actually a subdued malt feel. Somewhat leathery hop note and an astringent, bitter finish. 040907

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught at Ølbaren.
Clear orange coloured with a white head.
Aroma of caramel, malts, hops and pine needles.
Flavour of fruits, caramel, hops and pine needles.
Hoppy finish of pine needles.
Quite good, but I’ve had the pleasure to taste the winner IPA, and prefer the homebrewed edition, where the aroma hops is more evident.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival. Clear ruby, small head. Sweaty and fruity. Mid sized crystal malt body with clean, rounded mouthfeel. As it lacks hop aroma the lackluster malt composition makes it fall through completely,. Finishing with just slight piney bitterness.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Muddy amber with no head or lacings (looks like a british barley wine) Sweet sugary/caramel aroma. Taste is the same with some noticeable hops. The carbonation is extremely flat & the body is very thin. Very difficult to enjoy!

UPDATED: MAR 3, 2009 2008-05-10, draught at Plan B, Copenhagen, 6-5-7-4-14=36
Hazy copper to amber color; creamy head. The aroma is lightly fruity; the keg yesterday was clearly spoiled, but this one as well shows an extremely light fermentation problem (maybe the temperature). It’s a bit too carbonated, but it has a good caramel flavor and bitterness level, even if not too complex. Strangely, there is a touch of honey.

Beautiful red-mahogany color. The aroma is hoppy and cheesy. Medium body strength, a lot of caramel flavor, strong bitterness, with some resins, almost minty. Powerful end. Good but not exciting.
