3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Idiosynkrasie (1853) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - MAY 3, 2013
Tap at Braustelle. Hazy greyish brown colour with average to huge, frothy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Rather cautious malty aroma with very cautious hints of raost and smoke. Taste is minimally smoky malty, bitter hoppy overtones, very cautious hints of roast. Not that untypical, but somehow not really concrete, tangible.

Delicious microbrewed example of a style that is mostly industrial brew in the area. Typical for an alt, the flavor is dominated with bready tones, with roasted smoky notes,a little caramel and a touch of herb. Strong, almost mouth-puckering hop bitterness in the finish. The aroma is strongly bready, with hardly any discernable hoppiness at all. A well balanced beer - flavorful but refreshing!
