2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle shared at Exira Beer Summit 2012. Thanks to adnielsen for sharing. Pours a hazy orange color with white head. Malty, wheat, yeasty aromas. Crisp wheat flavoring. Not your prototypical german hefeweizen flavor. Kind of bland.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma: Lean, dry wheat (almost like cereal) with some very light fruit, such as apple; a little more of an herbal hop presence than the average Hefe. Appearance: Copper/burnt orange hazy pour with a foamy light tan head that settles into a bubbly skin. Flavor: Wheat more present on the tongue than anything else; yeast is really pared back here; becomes quite herbal and terminates astringently. Palate: Light body, sticky texture, average carbonation, astringent finish. Overall: Definitely different for a Hefeweizen, but not something I’d long to try again. Had this as Freigeist Pimock. Beer #100 from Germany.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
From bottle. Color is matte burnt orange in glass. Decent white head, which lingered in a little mount in the center of glass as I drank this down. The first thing that hits the nose is funky cheese. Hints of turned fruit. Closer inspection reveals some wheat notes. Some funk on the taste as well. Dry wheat. No real fruit presence. A hoppy, bitter finish. Watery. Not getting any of the mild sweetness that other note. Perhaps a turned bottle?

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cloudy light amber. Aroma is faint, mostly wheaty. Slightly sweet, with a wheaty signature. Good, balanced wheat in the "not Bavarian" style.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Aroma: brown sugar, spicy wheat and rotten banana. Caramel tan color. Bittersweet, hollow malt and minor sourness. Certainly contains some wheat, but not like most hefes. This one is all bitter with no zest. Body is flatter as well. Strange brew.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a lasting white foamy head atop an orange brown body. Nose of corn, wheat and tonic water. Flavour is fairly peppery, coriander and cardboard. Okay.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught@Braustelle, 13/02/2014. In line with their naturtrübes Helios, 21st century update of the Kölsch, an extra hopped dry Hefe with hop (?Tettnang and Hallertau?) spice instead of banana/clove. Creamy but sessionable palate, firm and chewy dry pale malts and more of a Keller yeast fruitiness than Weizen make this into a welcome NorthWestern crossover addition to partly worn SouthEastern traditions.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle (and it’s labelled as ’Pimock’). Pours a hazy, dark honey color, medium white head that dissipated kinda quick, nice lacing though. Nose is malty, some caramel. Mouth is medium bodied and dry (a watery finish though), malt forward with some caramel, grass and bready malts, underlying bitterness, fades out bitter too. Boring, unispired and certainly not really what I look for in a hefeweizen.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
pours hazy almost cloudy bright orange with a small creamy off-white head, some retention and lacing. rich, dense and douhy wheat along with chewy caramel and toffee - some sweetness - brown sugar, quite floral and fruity - oranges, definitely fewer esters than your regular hefe, some bubblegum, grassy-spicy, chalk, some butter. moderate carbonation, light body - oily, somewhat assertive lightly piney-herbal-grassy balanced finish. weizenbock feeling. interesting and complex enough but i’m somewhat not really digging it.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours hazy deep gold with white head. Nose is lemon, floral hop, wheat spice. Flavour has hay/crackery German malt, which endears me to it, as this is something many North American heffes seem to miss. Light, bright, refreshing.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma - aroma is dominated by caramel and wheat. Not typical of what I’ve had, but again pleasing.
Appearance - body is a caramel colored amber, with a head that is about 2" inches high and white. It settles down to a nice slice.
Taste - the taste is very pleasing, but ventures into the Bitter category a bit. It’s biggest flavor is caramel, then some light hops. Wheat of course. Not really that bubblegum/banana that you get with some Hefe’s, but tasty nonetheless.
Palate - body is between light and medium; texture is only can be descriped as creamy, but not in a stout way; carbonation is soft; the finish full of a sweet caramel.
Really enjoyable, but non-conformist Hefe. It’s more like some Bitters I’ve had then Hefe’s I’ve had. Either way it’s fun.
