Freigeist bottle... Poured mildly hazy golden yellow with a thick, frothy white head. Nice retention. Nice mouthfeel. Not too thick, not too thin. Light malts with a hint of earthy floralness. Clean. Little-to-no yeast presence. Crisp, midly drying, and quite refeshing.

Tap@Brewpub. Aroma is pretty hard, yeasty, bitterness. Cloudy, pale yellow, white head, fair lace. Very very hard bitter. Not from the hops I think but a mix of too much yeast and hop. Yuck.

UPDATED: FEB 15, 2014 Tap at Braustelle Köln, during Ehrenfelder FdBierkulturen 2013. - one of few, if not the only milk-cloudy Kölsch I have had so far. Unpasteurided pregnant. Nice and extra hop bitter. Lactic palate. Some white bread malt aromas, some citrus. Standout, (because) atypical Kölsch lacking the style-typical lemonade sugariness. // rerate Feb 2014: different visit, different Helios draught at Braustelle: cloudier (naturtrüb) with a less assertive bitterness, but a mellow, harmonic round taste and mercifully still no grain sweetness to be detected. This is the only Kölsch in town that aspires to some complexity, a natural hop kick and sessionability at the same time and succeeds. +0,2
