Poured into a perfect pint. 4.0 A: Faintly hazed wheat yellow color. Two and a half fingers of pillowy white head. Retention is pretty good and plentiful lacing is left. 4.5 S: Big nose on this. Tons of grassiness to the point that it comes off like a funk. Grainy maltiness with a moderate sweetness. Pithy lemony fruitiness. Hay and apple orchard. 4.5 T: Taste is equally impressive. Again grass and hay are the main attractions. Grainy malts with nice neutral sweetnss. Lemon rind. Really tasty. 4.5 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Very creamy and incredibly smooth. 4.5 D: So drinkable that I feel like an ass for only having this one bottle. Really high quality kolsch. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 10-03-2012 01:30:04

500ml Frigeist Ottekolong bottling. First good reason I’ve had to use the crystal Kölsch glasses my Mom bought me for Christmas.... cheers!

Pours a very pretty cloudy blonde with a nice big fluffy white head and great lacing on the glass.

The aroma is very inviting, lemony, very bready, some mineral character, a good light dose of herbal hoppiness.... some hay.

The flavor is spot on for what I like in this style. Clean, but very crisp... not restrained on bitterness or herbal hop character... some light bready maltiness but by no means is there any abundance of sweetness here. Just a little bit of that "straw" character, but it’s not as central to this one as many interpretations of the style. Certainly not unlike a great German PIls... but fitting more towards the Kölsch style.

Wow this is right up my alley. I really didn’t expect it to be this good.

De tirador, de aspecto es muy clara y cristalina, la espuma densa y compacta, el aroma en nariz es de platano, parecen levadura de weiss, despues en boca ela entrada es fresca y el final amargo-agrio.

Flavour is light to medium sweet, malty, hay, floral, light bready, nice floral hoppy finish with citrus. Light bodied, soft mouthfeel. Really nice and refreshing.

Draught @ Braustelle, Cologne. Pours cloudy orange with a creamy white head and lacings. Hay and grass. Smooth and hoppy. A bit of fruit. Really dry. Cologne’s most hoppy Kolsch. Great stuff.

Bottle. Pours a hazy light gold with a very decent head of thick suds that dies down pretty quickly. By the time I reach the top of the stairs and sit down to type there is just a thin film, a ring around the edge of the glass and a little bit of lacing. Aromas are nice... lemon, dough, cloves and a little pepper or something. Flavor is light, refreshing and pretty full. Lots of spice and light citrus balance nicely against that grainy and doughy presence. Palate is clean and simple. Very nice beer.
