Murky - muddy matt medium orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light moderate malty, wheat, moderate to heavy yeasty, phenol, banana, rubber notes, smoke notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, dry, fruity yeasty, banana, fruity, weizen bock sweet. Body is medium, texture is creamy - watery, carbonation is soft. Draught at La Fine Mousse, Paris. Cloudy amber, brief head. Phenolic nose with mild smoke. Sweet with medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Dominated by banana and phenols with some smoke atop. Low bitterness. Interesting flavours, but rather shallow character.

From tap at La Fine Mousse. Pours hazy brown to orange with a huge white head. Aroma is vague smoked, fruity and toasted malty, light phenolic. Sweet malty, light fruity and light yeasty. Mild bitter finish, vague on smoke in the flavour.

Draft at Beer Temple. Pours hazy amber with a white head. Aroma of smoke and fruit. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter. Medium bodied with medium carbonation.

Hefig-malziger Beginn mit deutlichem Hopfen und einer kurzen Trockenheit. Süffig, dann etwas hopfiger werdend, geringe aber schmeckbare Rauchigkeit, konstant. Blumig hopfig, würzig hefig harmonisch. Rundum gelungen! 12/12/13/12//12

On tap at the bier temple Amsterdam, October 2012 Good white head. Hazy blond pour. Nice smokey taste.

On tap at In de Wildeman. Hazy dark golden colour, white head. Aroma is hoppy, banana, juniper, hint of smoke, light plastic. Flavour is citrus, bitter hoppy, light plastic, juniper, yeast, bitter green banana and plastic in the finish, wheat. Medium-bodied. Despite the plastic, nice, but not much smoke here.

GBBF. Very hazy amber beer, little pale tan head. Light palate - crisp and dry. A little wheaty citrus. Very mild smoke. Mild bubblegum ester. Dry finish. Okay.

On tap @ In De Wildeman (as Freigeist Rauch Weizen Bock - 6.5% ABV). Color is cloudy orange to amber. Dense off white head, good lacing. Aroma’s: banana, hint of smoke, bit sweet. Retronasal also some tartness, wheat & hops. Flavor is somewhat acidic, lightly sweet, smoke in the background. Medium bodied. Finishes a bit grainy and quite bitter. Could use some balance.

Cask@GBBF2012. Hazy brownish orange colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, wheaty, mild roasted notes along with some alcohol. Flavour is quite similar with also some slight smoked wet wooden notes. Balanced.
