Bottled 500ml (BBE 11/2011)
Thanks bierkoning! Pale yellow color, small white head, lace. Strong herbal-grassy, vegetably aroma (green beans). Light bodied. Grassy-herbal hoppyness, sweetish maltyness but then boiled-vegetables which are off-flavors (DMS perhaps).
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Maria (8576) - Thisted, DENMARK - FEB 16, 2012
It’s golden with a white head, and the aroma has notes of hay, grain and malt. The flavour has al light sweetness and notes of hay, straw, malt, and it’s a bit boring.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 bierkoning (8099) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - JUN 16, 2003
UPDATED: JUL 25, 2011 Too dark for a pilsener, absolutely no head at all. Apple aroma and flavor with a hint of mustard. Almost still beer. Hopbitterness in the flavor, lingering on in the aftertaste. This beer is called a pilsener, but it certainly isnt. It’s a kellerbier, and a drinkable one. 6 2 5 2 10 = 2.5
8 years later, in july 2011, I got a totally different one. Bottle, bought @ the brewery. Pale blonde. Hayaroma. Firm grassy hopbitter flavor. Notes of hay. Fairly dry. Characterful pilsener. The rating is for this one.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 MoritzF (7342) - Bochum, GERMANY - OCT 16, 2006
(bottle, shared by DerDoppelbock) Hazy orange colour with a short and non-persisting foamy white head. Quite shy yeasty and malty aroma with notes of sweat and herbal hops. Bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a well-carbonated mouthfeel. Distinctive yeasty and malty taste with horse blanket/ barnyard-character; dry, yeasty and bitter finish with aromatic herbal hops and light fruity accents. Well-crafted, full of (rural) character (06.10.06).
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 pivnizub (7229) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - JUN 13, 2009
Draught at the brewpub: Presumably golden with a creamy-lacy head; solid herbal-hoppy nose; moderate to solid bitter-sweetish flavour, light bodied; slightly lingering bitter-strawy finish. Pretty good...........
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 JorisPPattyn (6727) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - SEP 12, 2006
Draught Huge, explosive white fluffy head to fully hazy, slightly greenish-yellow beer. Shy, hoppy nose with lots of pale malts underneath. Very fresh malts taste; extremely young-tasting, yeast determined, but good. Some DMS-like flavours, but easily suppressed in the balance. Light, certain grist slickness. An ideosyncratic German Pilsener from the tap. Crazy, but good.
