3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Glouglouburp (4780) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 13, 2009
In short: A beefy resinous and woody IPA.
How: Cask at brewpub
The look: Cloudy copper body topped by small beige head
In long: Huge hoppy nose. Taste is bold, nothing subtle here. Woody malts with caramel and toffee. Muscular hops with a highly resinous character. A little boozy despite the low 6.5% (I suspect higher than the advertised 6.5%). Long resinous bitterness. Good intense IPA. The type of basic pleasant beer that I’d like to have again, even right now. But I don’t have a hoppycock, it’s a good thing since this would be torture because I’m not very flexible.
