Serve in Dimpled mug, Lager glass, Stein

Tap at brewpub. Pours a amber light copper with a thin head. Aroma is toasty, nutty and biscuit with some very light fruit- and caramel malts. Flavor is drier, light nutty roast, hints of chocolate, toffee, and herbal lightly floral hops- mild finish.

20080729 Draft at brewpub. Oktoberfest in July? That’s either pushing it or left over from ten months ago. Bronze colored. A bit bland and not quite as malty as expected, especially from this brewer who seems to have a penchant for heavily malty brews. Big time effervescence. Could be a decent session quaff.

In a country where locally brezed Oktoberfest’s tend to be either over hopped or cloyingly malty, this was a welcome treat. Brewed in incredibly small quantities, this was a ’Fest to remember. I got mine at the Southwest Harbor Oktoberfest 2001.
