COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Belsnickler was the 19th Century Pennsylvania Dutch “sinister santa”, with variations of the legend stemming from Europe. Traveling from house to house, the Belsnickler waved switches in the air announcing his presence. He left treats for good little girls and boys, while naughty children found themselves at the end of his whip. This winter warmer is sure to take the chill out of the air and the chaos out of the holiday season. Hopefully you have been good, and the Belsnickler is leaving you this beer. This winter warmer is a Belgium Quadrupel style beer that is brewed with candy sugars and 5 different malts. We then ferment it with a blend of yeasts and then age it 4 to 6 weeks.

Very nice, very drinkable brew. Pours dark and has a over-riding sweetness that is very pleasant. Heavy plum notes, sips silky smooth. Alcohol is very well hidden. Another winner from Breaker.

On tap at Coopers. Pours amber with an off white head. Aroma is toast, caramel and spices. Taste is sweet. Smooth mouth feel with a sticky finish.

Medium yellowish head over reddish brown beer; bottle-sticking yeast. Spicy, some fatty acids, yeast-intoned; pretty "wry" nose. Fatty acids returning in the taste; sweetish, woody-dry flavour with a faint spicy background. Yeastesters, alcohol and probably fusels. Dry, near-astringent MF; slick and rather well-bodied. I guess they tried to avoid excessive sweetness - success. Only the yeast is not at all in check - lagering, temperatures? Thanks a mill, Mike K, very confidential production, no doubt.
