COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Black Mariah is the name referring to a horse drawn carriage dating back to the early 1900’s. The wagon doubled as a hearse or an ambulance. After a bad accident at the colliery, the wagon would always be an unwelcome sight as it would carry the bodies of seriously injured or worse to their loved ones.
Black Mariah is a smooth and silky Belgian inspired ale. Brewed with crystal malts, cocoa and dark Belgian candy sugars, It has a chocolate bouquet finishing with a hint of black cherry. Unlike its namesake, this wonderfully complex, dark chocolate ale will truly be welcomed by those it rolls by.

In short: A nice fruity dark ale, kind of like an Abt-light. I liked it
How: Bottle 22oz. Exact age unknown, probably almost one year of age, bought somewhere in PA some times ago and many months later this beer still has no rating?!?!?
The look: Very dark burgundy body (near black), some particles, small beige head
In long: Nose is raisins, freshly baked fruit cake, light notes of chocolate. Taste is a nice oily fresh black cake, lots of fresh dark fruits and raisins, a bit of chocolate fudge, mild tobacco leafs presence. Fruitiness was particularly engaging and complex in this beer. Body is a bit light a so called 7% Belgian Ale. This really tasted like an ABt-Light. Black Mariah is such a politically incorrect name, the beer should be called Mariah of color, and Disney should rename their classic movie to "Snow Caucasian woman an the Seven Little People".
