On tap at Roscoe’s. Aroma starts with resiny hops, then roast malt and wood-smoke. too dark to see through w/ barely a head. Good balance of hops & roast, the skilled breakside brewers avoiding the clash of dark malts with hops by the right hop choices (I’m not much of a CDA fan-- why not just have the IPA?)

Ben at Breakside is really great at making beers to style. He nailed it with this CDA. Tap at Hood River Fresh Hops Fest... Poured dark brown, near black, with a khaki head. Malty with roasted nuts and a little bit of ash. Citrus hops bitterness, alpha oily tones, oats, burnt sugars. A malty finish too.

Draught. Pours black with thick white head; Light soapy aroma. Full hop flavour with some roasty notes. Perhaps the crowd roaring songs helped. Nice hop finish.
