COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fresh Hop Citra Double IPA is a wheat-based double IPA (aka ‘wheatwine’) that uses the same aroma hop which dominates our flagship Breakside IPA. In this case, we stuck with a single, brief infusion of fresh Citra hops in the mash tun between the boil and pumpover to the fermentors. The beer did use some dried Citra hops in the kettle for bitterness as well.

A hazed golden ale with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, loads of citrus hops, biscuit malt , mint, catty notes. In mouth, a delicious biscuit malt with nice lemon notes, floral hops, oily mouthfeel, quite nice. On tap at Belmont, Portland, Oct. 6 2012.

On tap at Belmont Station, during fresh hop fest weekend. Tis beer shows you can go strong on a citrus hop and not get to where grapefruit rind meets aluminum. Of course this is tempered by a strong malt presence--caramel, wood smoke & cherry, and the green sweetness of the hops. clear amber color with a proper off white head. aroma of lemon, with resin & caramel. good chewy texture and full bodied finish
