COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly a collaboration with Ninkasi Brewing. IGA highlights the route that lots of new hop bombs are headed: light in body, lighter in color, and HUGE in citrus flavor and aroma. India Golden Ale or "I.G.A." is a showcase for two relatively new hops, Mosaic and Eldorado. Mosaic gives the beer a bright mix of stonefruit and tropical flavors along with a big piney backbone. Eldorados are fruity and soften the finish. Breakside keeps the malt bill incredibly simple to allow the hops to take center stage in this elegant and beguiling beer. 8.1% ABV 60 IBU malts: 2 Row, British Munich hops: Mosaic, Eldorado, Chinook

(Bottle) Not too bad. Very very tropical / grapefruit hops, but pretty smooth and well-balanced.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (melon, apricot, grapefruit, resin). Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium to full body, velvety/oily texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic, lightly astringent. Surprisingly good for this brewery. Clean all around, with fruity hops (some resin too, but itís non-obtrusive), low astringency and acidity, and a very quaffable flavor balance with a mostly fluffy mouthfeel (itís a bit slick/filmy and saccharine-like, but in a minor enough way that it doesnít distract too badly). Pretty solid DIPA.

this might be my favorite beer in Portland at the moment. Itís a gigantic double ipa but itís one of the smoothest drinking beers I can think of. so good.

22 oz bottle purchased from Roths Sunnyslope Market in Salem OR $5.99 Pours a clear darker gold with a large thick and creamy white head...nice carbonation strings. Great thick aromas of fruity , and floral hop..lychee, passion fruit..nice. Taste is similar to the aroma very fruity hops with a next to no malt .. But there has to be a substantial malt as the mouth feel is pretty smooth and thick..and nice. Very nice tasty stronger beer..ideal for the 97 degree heat!

Bottle (22oz $6). Light golden with white head. Grapefruit aroma. Strong grapefruit taste. medium plus body and medium carbonation. I little sweet and quite sticky. The pine taste seems muted (which I like). Overall very good and would get again.

On tap @ Breakside. Clear pale golden beer with a white head. Super hoppy! Big time grapefruit, orange, and perhaps kumquat. Pretty pine forward as well. Light tropical fruits, pale malt, and a bit of biscuit. Thereís a pretty mild sweetness, which is surprising given the ABV. Great fruity hop flavor and sweetness. Good bitterness as well, but not aggressive. A solid effort.

Bomber poured a clear gold with a small lasting creamy white head. Aromas of straw, peach, mango, tangerine, pink grapefruit and melon. Palate was light boded and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, grapefruit, lemon zest, light tropical fruit and a hint of peach with a smooth dry bitter lingering grapefruit finish.

Bottle. Lightly hazed gold with a lasting patchy white head. Hoppy aroma of burnt pineapple, cumin, resin, botrytized grapes, herbs, grass, cat pee. Medium-full bodied, savory with high bitterness and moderate sweetness. Carbonation is rich and fluffy, finish is dry and bitter and parched. It doesnít stand out as anything remarkable, itís about what you expect from American Double IPA, though the body is quite enjoyable, not overly bitter and certainly not sugary, if the hop profile was more to my tastes it would be a high 3.

On tap @ Murphy's. Rich citrus aroma, mixture of orange and lemon. White head with medium bubbles. Light gold color, almost like bud light in color. Amazing citrus flavors. Well rounded mouth feel. Almost get hints of lilikoi. An amazing beer. Hides the alcohol well. A dangerous beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
