Formerly a collaboration with Ninkasi Brewing. IGA highlights the route that lots of new hop bombs are headed: light in body, lighter in color, and HUGE in citrus flavor and aroma. India Golden Ale or "I.G.A." is a showcase for two relatively new hops, Mosaic and Eldorado. Mosaic gives the beer a bright mix of stonefruit and tropical flavors along with a big piney backbone. Eldorados are fruity and soften the finish. Breakside keeps the malt bill incredibly simple to allow the hops to take center stage in this elegant and beguiling beer. 8.1% ABV 60 IBU malts: 2 Row, British Munich hops: Mosaic, Eldorado, Chinook

Draught at HopScotch. Rich fruitiness, orange and pineapple, quite piney too, dry bitter finish. Good stuff, fairly classic but a pleasant iipa.

Bottle at tasting with Sean. Pours a clear golden with no head. Aromas of fruit (tropical), peach puree and mango (not directly citrus but ok). Thick texture, flat carbonation. Medium bitter, but that is well covered. Good

Bottle, 22oz. At Både &. Almost clear in the glass, golden in colour and with a small off-white head. Piney aroma with lots of orange zest, some malts in the back. Lots of bitterness in the mouth, lasting for a really long time. Orange zest, pine cones and a little malty touch in the flavor. Full body, quite dry on the palate, with a nice carbonation. Lasting finish, mostly on the bitter, hoppy side. Delicious and wonderful, sure a beer to repeat. 150821

Clear golden orange hue, fat lacy white head, mild citrus hop aroma, big fruity hop mouthful, slightly sweet and mildly syrupy - though not nearly as sticky and cloying as most IIPAs, big bitters. Im not a huge fan of the double IPAs in general, but this is the second time I’ve picked up a bomber of this stuff, so that says something. Oh yah, and the label is real nice, love the botanical art.

Fairly clear golden, with a bit of white head. Tropical aroma, with mild pineapple in taste as well. Fairly dry, and somewhat bitter, with fruity highlights. $6/20oz ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sampled on tap at Black Bottle Brewery. Clear golden orange appearance with a lingering white ring of head. Fresh, hoppy aroma of citrus, earth, flowers and light herbal notes. The flavor adds toasted grain, biscuit and a moderate hop bitterness. Medium body with a smooth feel. Pretty easy to drink overall. Good.

651 ml. bottle. Pours a medium, well retained, off white head, over a slightly hazy medium Amber (SRM 9) body........nose is pine, slight resin, citrus including grapefruit, tangerine, melon, mango, a tiny bit of onion, garlic sulfur, all from the hops, no esters, balance to the hops...taste is slightly honey sugar sweet from the malts, with melon, perach, mango, citrus (grapefruit, tangerine) notes from the hops, finishing with a moderate hop bitterness, balance to the hops, no esters..........mouth feel, light of medium body, sticky, alcohol warmth present, slight astringency, carbonation adds slight acid and creaminess. This is part of the newer style I/DIPA which are unbalanced to the new generation of hops, with only minimal malt contributions. They are uniformally quite clean, but the malts might be a better partner with more Vienna and Munich to give more malt complexity. BJCP 8/3/15/4/7

(Bottle) Not too bad. Very very tropical / grapefruit hops, but pretty smooth and well-balanced.
