Formerly a collaboration with Ninkasi Brewing. IGA highlights the route that lots of new hop bombs are headed: light in body, lighter in color, and HUGE in citrus flavor and aroma. India Golden Ale or "I.G.A." is a showcase for two relatively new hops, Mosaic and Eldorado. Mosaic gives the beer a bright mix of stonefruit and tropical flavors along with a big piney backbone. Eldorados are fruity and soften the finish. Breakside keeps the malt bill incredibly simple to allow the hops to take center stage in this elegant and beguiling beer. 8.1% ABV 60 IBU malts: 2 Row, British Munich hops: Mosaic, Eldorado, Chinook

Golden pour, huge bone white head, awesome lace. Nose is typical mosaic strong stone fruit with a little candied citrus. Flavor is dank weed, mango, stone fruit, moderate pine, lemonade, and a lightly sweet grainy finish. Seriously impressive stuff, well done breakside!

I really love this double IPA. It has a heavy floral aroma but just the right amount in the flavor. Flowers, citrus and herbs exude from start to finish. Malt flavors are rich and they provide the perfect backbone (not too much to obscure the hops, though). Overall, it’s a clean, aromatic and perfectly bittered impy IPA.

hazy golden color. Lovely tropical fruit, pine, with a touch of biscuit malt below it. Very nice malty start but then big tropical fruit notes with some crystal malts. Really well balanced. Lighter body than expected. Fantastic light dry finish. Superb

Very drinkable and nice on the palate. But be wary of the high alcohol content. It can hit pretty hard!

Lovely beer. Bomber. Pours a mostly clear golden color with a medium white head. A wonderful nose of fruit, some pepper. The flavor is lemons, crisp sweet malts, bitterness, pine, candied fruit, a bit of dank flavors, really mellow but super flavorful. Pine. The mosaic here is huge. This is an awesome IIPA.

22 oz. bottle, pours a clear golden with a medium off-white head. Aroma brings out lots of piney hops, zesty biscuity malt, and a little citrus. Flavour brings out loads of juicy piney hops, resin, and dry zesty biscuity malt. Loads of hops, very dry on the palate, and without any residual sweetness. Excellent stuff.

Cloudy golden color with compact head. Pungent brew, probably with NZ hops, with a lean body, appreciated for showcasing good hops, moderately sweet, and very fruity (mango over all), a bit musky; drier final.
Very good, drink cold.

2014-06-07, bottle from 16th Street Liquor, West Vancouver, 7-4-8-5-16=40
Hazy golden color with medium sized head. The hop aroma is moderately fruity, some malt, and light vegetables; some piney pungent hop too. Lean body, the mouthfeel is lightly oily; mellow malt flavor, and potent hopping, very resiny, but also with fresh fruit character; long and bold final.
There are other strong IPAs with a better aroma, nevertheless this one has the quality of being quite easy to drink.

Bottle. Hazy orange/gold with a thin fluffy white head. Aroma is orange, honey and leafy hops. Taste is very similar. Veritable citrus explosion. Great juicy mouthfeel with a light prickly carb. Awesome.

What are these aromas, spongy, wood smoke, almost vinegar, something almost chemical, not unpleasantly so. The flavor continues the mystery—swampy, leather, a high toned bitter that’s clean and thin, alcohol, resin. Wouldn’t expect this strong tasting a brew to be this light, a clean medium yellow with modest white head. Complex finish
