Draft at the troom. Clear deep maroon color, bright white head. Aroma is lightly toasted brown bread. Taste is similar. Solid.

Much like the ESB, this seemed a little mild and thin to me. I like the session idea but the malt doesn’t back it up as much as I would like.

On tap at the brewpub in Portland, OR. Pours a clear, deep brown colored body with a finger-width, creamy, light brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is nutty and toasty with a light cocoa and caramel note as well as a light earthy hopping. Flavor is similar. Nutty, grainy caramels and cocoa with a light toastiness. Finishes dry with a light earthy and toasty bitterness before leaving a lengthy aftertaste. Medium-light body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty solid brown ale. Lightly sweetened with some grainy caramels and cocoa that is well balanced with some toast and earth. Nice beer.

Tap @ Breakside... Poured dark brown with a thin, gray-ish khaki head. Nutty and roasty with a moderate mouthfeel. Easy drinking and a perfect session beer. Some sweetness with caramel malt, cocoa, and earthy hop spicing that was just enough to offer some balance.

Not the Dark Mild, as the alcohol is different. Draught. Dark brown with thick off white head. Sweetish aroma, with a malt character. Tiny bit of toffee in the flavour with the sweet malt and the hop to keep it from getting too sweet. BTW the alcohol should be 4.0 per centum
