UPDATED: AUG 25, 2015 Wonderful tropical fruit aroma in a light gold pour. Brilliantly balanced with light hop forward start and perfectly sorted sweetness in the body. Finish is crisp and clean and leaves one wanting another (and another). Would love to try from tap - but suspect I’d rate it higher. * Managed to do just that - and definitely do!

Tap at Dick’s Kitchen in Portland. Pint glass. Aroma filled with citrus vibes...an assertive IPA. Almost a full finger of head. Really good lacing. Golden orange leaning more towards the golden side. Taste is run of the mill IPA with a large bouquet of citrus and pine notes. Some decent sweetness in the middle and end. Feels like a really solid IPA without pushing the envelope. I’ll give it a solid recommendation.

Appearance: hazy pale gold with a fat finger of rocky ivory head, good retention and lacing. (4/5) Aroma: pine, pithy citrus, pale malt, mild catty, light herbal. (8/10) Taste: mild to moderate sweet, moderate bitter. (8/10) Palate: medium slightly oily body, moderate carbonation, lingering bitter finish. (4/5) Interesting doing this one side by side with their Session IPA. There’s a strong family relationship, but I think I slightly prefer this one. Not that it’s necessarily better, as such, just different. A little heavier in the body, with more pronounced flavours, and what might be Citra coming through with just a hint of cattiness that’s not present in the ISA - but not in a negative way. (16/20)

Tap. Copper brown pour, thin creamy off-white head, okay retention. decent amount of lacing. Aroma of caramel, grapefruit, pine. Medium body, smooth carbonation. Lasting resin bitter finish.

red gold pour. Aroma cabbage, cat piss, pine. Tastes melons, cat piss, pine, juniper. waterly light palate lets hops take over. seems more bitter than 50ibu since malts are so subdued. I didn’t like this the first time I tasted it, but in a blind tasting, I liked it a lot. I averaged my scores for this.

Draught @ Bakgården Både &, Kristiansand
Pours hazy golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, peach, pine, grape, melon and citrus. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long peach, citrus and piney finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

On tap at Både&. A hazy orange colored beer with a small off-white head leaving some curtains. There’s a lovely pine cone and grapefruit aroma, with some generic tropical fruits and malts in the back. The bitterness isn’t overdone in any way, but it’s sure there. Pine cones, resins and grapefruit, some peaches and some malts too. It’s full bodied, quite dry, and nicely carbonated. Lasting hop dominated finish. Wonderful this one, really lovely. 150711

On tap at Hop Shop Ballard. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is grass forward with pine and a straw backbone. Flavor is similar with a straw and grass combination with a bit of grapefruit underlying.

On tap @ Breakside. Clear golden pour with a white head. Has a bit of a fruit salad nose to it with some pineapple, orange, grapefruit, and peach. Definitely a bit of pine, some bread, and grass. Big orange juice flavor to it. Some bitter pine and citrus rind, zesty grapefruit, and a hint of sweet melon. Nice.

Bottel hazy pale soft golden with a full white head. Mild hoppy aroma of melons and some citrus. Plenty bitter in the flavor but not the sharp fresh hop notes. More melon and light woody biter.
