A blend of Rasbiscus Mead with our Honey Ale and Stout aged for three months in a Brettanomyces-infused wine barrel. Mmm, that sounds good. I’ll have that.

On tap at Breakwater. Poured a deep amber, bordering on brown with a small sized head. Sour fruits, vinegar, funky, tart, and wine. If anything, a bit acetic in the tastes, but overall nice.

On tap at the brewpub in Oceanside. I never would have guessed that it was such an unusual combination of mead and ale, it tastes similar to a Flanders Red/Brown Sour aged in oak. Poured in a tulip glass, nice red/brown appearance with a slight head. Aroma of cherry, oak, vanilla, vinegar. Nice balance of sweet, sour, and slight bitter, earthy and vinous. Clean finish, perfect oak character, I’ll have another.

Dark caramel color with ivory foam. Big aspirin, wet wood, sour fruit aromas. Smooth mouthfeel. Dry dark caramel, sour dark fruit, wet wood, spicy red wine flavors are lightly to medium tart----smooth easy finish for a sour---not bad.

"A little on the lite side in all aspects, but a flavorable, sessionable sour brown ale that was enjoyed by all. Cherries, amalt and a lactic sourness on the nose and palate. Cool surprise."

Draught at the brewpub, Oceanside. Deep amber/mahogany beer with a nice lasting beige/brownish head. Sourish fruity aroma, vinegar, brett, leather notes, grapes, citrus, caramel, raisins, some figs. Malty grape and caramel aroma, floral, brett, grassy, raisins, leather notes, funky, some citrus. A bit on the sugary sweet side, but still good and drinkable.

George’s Bachelor Party September 2013. Aroma is slightly sour with a big horse blanket thing going on. Another good example of that. Taste is slightly sour raspberry.

Pours hazy brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, honey, chocolate, caramel, berries, vanilla and oak. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long honey, caramel and oak finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

On tap at the brewpub. An unclear amber to brown beer with a small creamy light beige head. Nice curtains. Light roasted aroma with caramel, some dried fruits and a distinct baked touch. There’s a faint bitterness in the flavor, with roasted notes and some oak and caramel. Full body, really smooth on the palate. Caramel and some oak in the finish. Unusual, but nice. Not much Brett impact. 130813
