[Draft @ brewpub] Lightly hazed golden amber hue. Fruity pineapple, mildly piney aroma. Pink grapefruit on the palate, plenty of bitter citrus, some mild tropical pineapple. Malt minimal, good hop depth. Tasty IPA.

Sample @ Brewpub
Pours cloudy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel and citrus. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

tap at brewpub-6/16/11-pours lite orange with a small fizzy head. nose is tropical fruit basket here-kind of one dimeisional big citrus and catty notes going on long citric finish with some dry resin. pretty standard for the course but decent nonetheless. there are too many good IPA s in CA to even compete.

Really excellent Cali-IPA. Huge aroma of grapefruit and other citrus and a bright fresh flavor on top of the perfect hue and appearance. It really is a beautiful thing, and I see why it has taken home awards.

A: The beer pours a hazed golden amber color with a finger of white head and some mild lacing. S: Initially, this beer smells great. Lots of grapefruit, tangerine, and pine. However, as I let the glass sit, there was a ton of butter aroma that came through. The hops were still there, but the butter was just too much to get past. T: The bitterness is certainly there, but not quite the punch of hop flavor I was looking for. A decent pine flavor and some grass to go with the bread and malt. I experienced the same butter character on the palate, as well. M: Medium in body with a moderate level of carbonation. D: This one really lead me on but ended up being a disappointment.

Clear golden with a fizzy white head. Earthy hops and grain aroma and taste with a crisp bitter finish.

On tap. Pours with a small white head that turns into a ring over a golden body. Aroma is fruity, floral, tropical fruit and caramel. Taste is dry, straw, fruity, and a little faded. Tropical fruits, some herbal hops. A little too bitter for its current state of freshness (more dry hopping or knockout additions might help). Lively bubbles.

Cloudy golden with a medium off white head. Plenty of hops in the nose that also met grapefruits, pine and pale malt. Seriously hoppy flavor with pine, grapefruits and lemons. Bone dry and bitter finished. Dry mouthfeel. Nice.

Gold/amber pour, white head. Citrus, light tropical fruit and pine, hops, and small amount of malt and caramel. Mostly hops in this one, kinda one dimensional.

My Bottom Line:
Wooden, sandy hops rouse an enduring coniferous bitterness in this rough-around-the-edges India Pale Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam skirts the cloudy brownish orange.
-Malts don’t offer much flavour here.
-Aromatically-speaking, this is pretty simple and not bright at all.
-The light tropical fruitiness of tangelos can be found within.
-Simply put, this is a full-flavored, unbalanced hop assault.

On tap at the brewpub.
