I found this to be just straight char flavor. Really smoky - campfire - burnt toast. Creamy black body to go along.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 wetherel (1837) - Encinitas, California, USA - FEB 22, 2009
I entered this beer, so feel free to correct the style. The ABV and description is from the menu. On tap at the brewery. 6 sampler platter. In order from best to worst: I liked North Jetty IPA, Signature Pale Ale, Hill Street Honey, Hibiscos Hefe, Point Break Porter, Switch Stance Strong Ale.
Nice chocolatey roasty bitternes. A bit mellow, partly because the nitrogen dulls the aroma a bit. Dark Brown color. Huge lasting fluffy nitro head.
