OhioDad (2492), Hilliard, Ohio, USA Sep 30, 2007 12oz bottle pours deep amber with a short offwhite head that stays well. Aromas of lots of toasted and caramel malts with a good amount of cascade hops. Flavor is mostly those same toasted and caramel malts. A good amount of citrus finds it’s way through too. Slight bitterness at the finish makes you come back for another sip. Palate seems pretty well balanced with lively carbonation. Pretty nice
Indiana_Red (1462), Boise, Idaho, USA Aug 24, 2008 Clear light amber thin of white head.
Woody bitter aroma.
Tons of bitternes but not much hop flavor. Dissapointing in this wa. The IBUs literaly burn.
Nice malty bod but that IBU imbalance throws me.
joekinty (208), rockledge, Florida, USA Aug 23, 2008 a hazy brown color with a big beautiful aroma of caramel and citrus hops has a quick dry finish very tasty Goodgrief (1020), Middletown, Delaware, USA Aug 16, 2008 Updated: Aug 17, 2008Surprisingly dark pour, amber with nice head and lacing. Mild, odd aroma...can’t put my finger on it. Rich sweet malty flavor, some bread and honey notes...not very ESB-like. Whatever, I liked it. Nice blend of maltiness and bittering hops with a pleasing alcohol presence. I would drink this baby again. Ungstrup (11136), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 7, 2008 Draft at the brewpub. A deep brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet and very nutty combined with a light note of alcohol, leading to a dry nutty and bitter finish. BlackDonald (1040), North Carolina, USA Aug 3, 2008 This is an excellent take on the style. I’m continually impressed with the small batch series. Deep amberish orange pour, nutty bread crumb aroma with some toffee and caramel, and just a hint of spicy, even earthy hoppiness. Pretty smooth with some honey sweetness on the palate. A great maltiness throughout. Finishes is dried fruits. Yummy
