COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Roll up your sleeves and get to work in this Imperial Porter. Named after the 18th Century luggage porters in London, it’s been a well-deserved reward for the laborer for over 200 years. We put in the extra hours and doubled it for a Small Batch Series. Job well done folks, job well done.

Bomber. A nearly black colored brew that is more dark brown. There is a light khaki head. The nose has some sweet dough and raisins. Flavors of raisins dominates this sweet brew. There is also some note of dark chocolate. The body is slick and yet thick at the same time. Decent with hints of roast, but the cloying sweetness dominates. Typically subpar for Breckenridge.

Average. There are much better offerings out there. Light pour (too light). subdued aromas and taste of coffee, dark malt. Nothing exciting.

Pours reddish brown with nice creamy off white, khaki head, 22 oz bottle thanks to Aaron. Aroma has notes of some roast, nuts, dark fruit, touch of mineral notes as well, hints of earth. Taste is a bit off, with notes of toffee, caramel, hints of nuts and roast, the minerals come back, finishing fairly sweet with some dark fruit notes as well. Not the best brew, but goes down fairly smooth.

Bottle @ home. Reddish brown appearance with a small tan head. Slight fruit tartness, mild chocolate, light espresso aroma. Tangy, light chocolate, mineral, slight fruity, burnt flavor. Bleh.

Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is on the sweet side, chocolatey caramel with perhaps a hint of vanilla. Flavor is most definitely sweet. Chocolate and caramel with a hint of molasses and maybe a hint of roast. Rather thin mouthfeel, moderate carbonation and a somewhat lingering aftertaste - again very sweet. Overall, not what I was looking for based on the style. All that sweetness reminded me more of a bock or doppelbock than a porter.

It pours a medium gold that is very clear with lots of carbonation. It pours with 3 fingers high of head that lasts a while a good lacing. There is fruity white wind smell on the head, notes of grapes, bananas, and yeast. The taste is very light and smooth throughout. There are light notes of hops a touch of bitterness at the end. Light on the palate but highly drinkable.

This one misses the mark. Pours a dark sultry brown, but it has no feeling. No class. Very unremarkable. Roasted malts? interesting palate? Missing, all of it. You should also skip this one.

A sheet of beige foam tops the coffee coloured pour. The nose feels a bit powder sugary, paired with toasty and chocolatey malts; more like milk chocolate than dark and very roasted. Vanilla touches punctuate it all, increasing the sugary feeling. From the nose to the finish, hops are almost a neglectable quantity. At the same time, the texture feels a bit slim, powdery, very softly carbonated. Fudgey, not very tight, desserty sweet malts dominate the portrait with vague licorice and vanilla nuances, but little complexity. It sure does not feel substantial enough to amount to 7.5% and while it’s a trait I appreciate when we’re talking of alcohol dissimulation, I like it less when it comes with limited depth.
