Commercial Description:
Hoppy? Brother, 471 redefines hoppy. 471 is a small batch, limited edition ale that was created by our Brewmaster to separate the weak from the strong. 471 is a double IPA, that combines Pale, Munich, Caramel-30, Carapils and Torrified Wheat malts, with Chinook, Centennial, Simcoe and Fuggles hops. It has a big sweet mouthfeel, followed by more hoppiness than you've ever had at one time. Enjoy. (Available at Breckenridge Pubs and Restaurants and bottled as 471 Small Batch Double Hopped IPA.)

Powerful IPA. Taste is citrusy, hops present, but overall, I feel this beer is very smooth (especially considering the alcohol content). Color is copper. VERY hoppy aroma. Everyone of my friends that I’ve had try this have been equally as impressed (and most of them aren’t "beer" drinkers). A must have, or at least try, for anyone who likes IPA’s.

Pours a coppery golden color into the glass with an ippediate hoppy aroma that the 9.2% ABV comes out in. Smells hoppy and citrusy... like grapefruit. The flavor is of grapefruit and hop and, once again, the high alcohol content is also present. The grapefruit flavor also sticks with you for a while after drinking. 12 oz. bottle.

Rich gorgeous shade of amber, with a light off white head. Smell is big and grapefruity right off the bat. Like grapefruit syrup. Citrusy, honey tones and some grainy malt. Taste is pungent, hoppy, bitter, but well within a nice drinkable limit for a double IPA. More fruity bitterness than astringency which is nice. A quick clean finished, and balances even more and sweetens up a bit as it warms. A very nice double IPA, and perhaps my favorite.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a wonderfully clear gold. Thin, white head. Aroma of citrus, orange peel. Nicely bitter hops hit you from the first sip. Some piney hints, grass. As the beer opens up, the alcohol comes out to play. Good beer.

Draft at Barcade. Lots of good tropical fruit and grapefruit in the aroma. The taste is similar, very citrusy with a grapefruit finish. Good stuff.

Wow. Powerful and massive IIPA here. At first scent I thought I was gonna be disapointed. But I took a big gulp and was blown away by powerful flavors or citrus grapefuit and then a bitter hopiness that wouldnt go away long after swallowing. One of the best I’ve ever had.

Tap at Barcade’s 3rd Anniversary Party: Pours a nice glowing copper/orange with a thin consistent head. This stuff is intensely aromatic, filled with loads of tropical fruits. It’s so natural and mango-like that it almost seems like mango-citrus juice. There’s also a subtle hint of squash as it warms. Great hop depth. The body is thick, mildly carbonated and chewy. The hop flavors are a full- tropical fruit, citrus scale. Lots of blood orange, with a slightly sticky, but never cloying malt back. The finish is resiny and grapefruit like. This stuff has an ideal amount of bittering hops to balance out the sticky body. Great hop depth, fruity, and highly drinkable at 9.2% ABV. Good stuff.
