Hoppy? Brother, 471 redefines hoppy. 471 is a small batch, limited edition ale that was created by our Brewmaster to separate the weak from the strong. 471 is a double IPA, that combines Pale, Munich, Caramel-30, Carapils and Torrified Wheat malts, with Chinook, Centennial, Simcoe and Fuggles hops. It has a big sweet mouthfeel, followed by more hoppiness than you've ever had at one time. Enjoy. (Available at Breckenridge Pubs and Restaurants and bottled as 471 Small Batch Double Hopped IPA.)

(Bottle). Served in the Breckenridge 471 brewer's glass. Aroma is faint hops. Complexion is a clear honey color with thin head and glass lacing. The flavor is sweet grapefruit followed by lingering bitter hops. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle courtesy of the wonderfully generous Mr Peter Fowler of Shoulder of Mutton fame, many thanks Peter thanks! Consumed at home Wednesday 26th February 2014 Pours red amber with off-white head, wonderfully bitter, really tangy. Initially sweet but soft carbonation, some sweet very pithy lemon. A little bitter orange, drying at the end. Its good. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8:

Copper-orange pour with a thin head. Pungent pine and candied orange aroma over caramel. Soft carbonation, medium sweet caramel and dried apricot/orange, piney hop. Lacks the bite I was hoping for. Medium lingering bitterness and light cardboard aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Excellent brew. Grapefruit hue. Deep foamy head. Ultra-hoppy. A delicate smell. Full-bodied taste. The flavor expands in your mouth. Definitely a double IPA. No cloying aftertaste. Absolutely refreshing. I would drink this one on tap again I fear that its flavor would be lost in translation if purchased in bottle.

On tap at Mainline in Old Town. Appearance: amber color, clear, finger of white head, great lace. Aroma: floral, caramel, resin. Palate: medium body, sticky texture, lasting bitter finish, average carbonation. Taste: bitter most of the way through. Overall, very ok by my standards, really hoppy, and I like the uniqueness, but I did not feel that the balance was quite there.
