COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hoppy? Brother, 471 redefines hoppy. 471 is a small batch, limited edition ale that was created by our Brewmaster to separate the weak from the strong. 471 is a double IPA, that combines Pale, Munich, Caramel-30, Carapils and Torrified Wheat malts, with Chinook, Centennial, Simcoe and Fuggles hops. It has a big sweet mouthfeel, followed by more hoppiness than you've ever had at one time. Enjoy. (Available at Breckenridge Pubs and Restaurants and bottled as 471 Small Batch Double Hopped IPA.)

Nicely citrussed, grapfruit and hoppy IPA. Full-flavored , crisp and refreshing. Dry finish. Pleasant, chewy and good, medium carbonation, and a smooth mouthfeel. Slightly peppery and overall quite good. I will definetly buy this IPA again.

22 oz bomber bottle. This poured a honey color with a fairly thick white head. Has a nice citrus pine aroma. Starts out slightly sweet, but the hop bitterness is right there from the start and continues all the way through. Nice. This is a very tasty IPA. I highly recommend it.

Crystal clear body of pale honey amber. Small capping of whitish smooth foam. Keeps a good skim the whole glass through and the lacing is placed well across the glass in broken inky strings. Aroma is fairly grassy edged with an herbal hay notion. Nice little twist of orange/lemon citrus on top and a notch of pine. Trace faint malt detected as it warms. Taste is decent with an overall clean profile. Semi hoppy texture abounds upfront with herbal grassyness, a sweet underbelly, and pale pine. Middles out rounded with the malt creeping in more then earlier points. Ends cleaner with slightly bitter grassy hops twisted together with a citric lemony orange pulp tint. Leaves a partial dryness as it cinders into tthe finish with a lemony warmth of hop oil. Feel is medium bodied and textured with a hoppy leafyness in front, rounds off in the middle, gets clean, then drys out with a slight bitterness. Smooth and balanced. Seemingly more akin to a good Pale Ale then an IPA, but holds its own well enough for a hoppy enjoyment. Perhaps not as complex as others I’ve had, but is decent enough.

Pours to a glowing golden body with a dense creamy (milk bubbly) white-ish head. The head tastes marvelous. Piney resin aroma. The flavor is moderately hoppy, nicely balanced by malt. I can taste the Torrified Wheats... Unfortunately pretty basic and not overly hoppy like an IIPA should be. The palate is simply bitter. Nicely warming. Unfortunately, the hops were used for bittering and not aromatics.

Very soft, but distinct hop and grain aroma, sweet soft hoppy citrus, some malt background ,very bitter in swallow, tangy, slighty dry, tasted a little weak at first, but that bitter taste became more pleasureable as time went on . An excellent effort

UPDATED: SEP 24, 2006 On draft at the Denver location, 4/15/06: Bright orange. Just a thin head. Stark citric hoppiness, almost peachy. Definitely for the hopheads. I liked it alot. Also had in a bottle in Sep 06: Bit of a fruit-peel in the brew with a stark alcohol aspect. Almost whiskey-like with its burn. Excellent.

A very dark amber color...looks like honey with a medium head. It has a very sweet sugary bitter taste. starts out real sweet and finishes real bitter in the back of your mouth. I guess the aroma would be of hops, im still a noob and I’m only ’pretty sure’ i know what hops smell like.

A pretty standard IPA, but a tasty one - very resinous aroma and dry, woody flavor - lingering biter finish - some background grassy, herbal qualities and mild strawberry sweetness - very well-balanced.
