Hoppy? Brother, 471 redefines hoppy. 471 is a small batch, limited edition ale that was created by our Brewmaster to separate the weak from the strong. 471 is a double IPA, that combines Pale, Munich, Caramel-30, Carapils and Torrified Wheat malts, with Chinook, Centennial, Simcoe and Fuggles hops. It has a big sweet mouthfeel, followed by more hoppiness than you've ever had at one time. Enjoy. (Available at Breckenridge Pubs and Restaurants and bottled as 471 Small Batch Double Hopped IPA.)

Draft at Falling Rock back in Sep 05. Fairly clear amber pour...big fluffy off-white head. Sweet malt aroma, grapefruity, other citrus fruits abound. Flavor is also a good mix of sweetish malts, floral, citric hoppiness...caramel cookie notes. Nice even sweet/bitter finish. Medium bodies...very tasty.

UPDATED: NOV 21, 2006 Tap: Red color, with a medium head. Aroma of hops and rum. Sweeter than expected with the alcohol quite clear. Bottle: More brown than the tap. About the same head and aroma. But, more hoppy.

UPDATED: NOV 11, 2007 The pour reveals a cloudy orange color with a thin white head. Good aroma of citrusy, spicy hops with caramel malt. Good flavor of citrusy, spicy hops with caramel malt and a bitter finish. The body is medium with a creamy texture and moderate carbonation. A good, competent double IPA.

Botlle, Good citrus and floral aroma. Copper body with off white head. Citrus flavor along with some bitterness. Sticky texure in the body and this was cool and crisp on the palate.

UPDATED: AUG 6, 2006 Upon opening of cap a earthy hoppy smell wafted out. Pours a gold-copper colour and the scent has sweet caramel and earthy hoppyness intermingled together. Head is light, delicate and lacy. Definite hops flavour (as it is a Imperial IPA) with a sweet sugaryness and a flavour of amber ale. Not as bold as I would expect from an Imperial IPA but the flavour has a lot of elegance- would be a good Double for drinking on a mellow night with a friend. Taste is appealing to the palate- not overly bitter and invites further tasting. Overall a great beer with a unique flavor but seems to be lacking in bold character- it is reminiscent more of a regular IPA than a Double...

An orange beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet hoppy with notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet with nice caramel notes combined with grapefruit, leading to a dry hop juice end.
