COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hoppy? Brother, 471 redefines hoppy. 471 is a small batch, limited edition ale that was created by our Brewmaster to separate the weak from the strong. 471 is a double IPA, that combines Pale, Munich, Caramel-30, Carapils and Torrified Wheat malts, with Chinook, Centennial, Simcoe and Fuggles hops. It has a big sweet mouthfeel, followed by more hoppiness than you've ever had at one time. Enjoy. (Available at Breckenridge Pubs and Restaurants and bottled as 471 Small Batch Double Hopped IPA.)

Hazy golden orange with a thin white head. Very little effervescence. Sticky full body with medium-high carbonation.

Aroma: bready pale malt, citrusy piney hops, and alcohol.

Taste: sweet toffee malts, sweet orange-blossom piney hops, some alcohol, and some yeast esters.

Great citrus aroma... hazy amber... from the aroma I though I was going to get more flavor... just a little mild on the taste... but not bad overall

Does not taste as strong as the ABV. There is some sweetness before the bitter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Bine and Vine: Lively fragrance of hops utilized nicely in the aroma of this beer which develops some spicy hop notes and ignites my appetite to taste this. Color was a shiny brass hue with a small yet expected formation of foam head. The drink carries through with a soft refined carbonation that is easy on the palate and earns high points with my palate. Flavor is more bitter than anything else but is dominated by bright earthy hops and rightfully so. First beer I’ve had by Breckenridge and a good lasting first impression was left behind by this company that suggests potential with their other releases.

Outstanding appearance - great painted, embossed 12 oz bottle. Light bronze colored beer. Don’t think I’ve given a ’5’ for appearance to a small longneck before. Fresh APA aroma, with some fermented fruit and sticky malt. Rich flavor - not your usual AIPA. The multi-hop, multi-malt complexity really comes through. Warming. Stewed peach flavors, pleasantly bittered without the dry hop greenness. Very faint diacetyl. Slightly heavy mouthfeel. Slow burn finish with sturdy hop aftertaste. Surprisingly good. ABC Liquors, Betton.

Old rate. This one was a let-down sort of. So much malt in it that it coveres the hops but hte hops are there making it not terrible.

12 oz bottle into a Duvel tulip. A: Pours a mildly hazy copper color. The head is a 2 finger offwhite shade. There’s some respectable texturing and retention to be found in the latter. S: The hops here are very earthy and floral in their tone, and also features a minty touch reminiscent of 90 Minute. All in all, though, the hop profile here doesn’t particularly strike my fancy, nor does the malt backbone. T: It’s a bit maltier than I expected. I’m not sure if it’s the age or whatnot - I just know the hop profile here isn’t that powerful. At first, a touch of floral hops open things up, and before the boozy, sweet finish hits, I notice an enjoyable - but sadly vague and mild - midtaste of tropical fruits. Some floral hop qualities also return on the back end, which rubs me the wrong way combined with the mild booziness and strange umami tones. M: I think this one is too heavy and sweet in texture. It’s not *sweet* per se (in terms of flavor), just lacking the necessary dryness to cleanse and refresh the palate. That, and it brings out the crap aftertaste more strongly. O: Not a great DIPA, and I don’t think this one has the excuse of being an old bottle, either. Certainly nothing to drainpour, but there are too many great DIPAs out there to seek this one out again.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear orange/yellow color with a nice 2 finger white head. Aroma is floral with notes of citrus and hops. Taste is very fruity, with mango, grapefruit and orange notes, and a nice malt presence in the background.

12oz bottle. Pours hazy and golden amber with a light frothy head. Citrus hints are commanding and ever present. Lively Palate, but the taste is a little common to standard beers than high end IPA. Overall: my opinion, better than average IPA but not to be mentioned with better craft IPAs. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Appearance is cloudy with brown medium head. Looking closely I can see chunks of reside like squeezed lemonade. Taste is bitter strong grapefruit with moderate maltyness. I can taste the high alcohol.

Think it was a 355 mL bottle, but I’ve no idea from where I got it. Smells the part, with lots of resin. Flavour not so much, but it’s not bad. I expect more from a double.
