COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hoppy? Brother, 471 redefines hoppy. 471 is a small batch, limited edition ale that was created by our Brewmaster to separate the weak from the strong. 471 is a double IPA, that combines Pale, Munich, Caramel-30, Carapils and Torrified Wheat malts, with Chinook, Centennial, Simcoe and Fuggles hops. It has a big sweet mouthfeel, followed by more hoppiness than you've ever had at one time. Enjoy. (Available at Breckenridge Pubs and Restaurants and bottled as 471 Small Batch Double Hopped IPA.)

On tap at Birdsall House. Pours a clear orange amber with a medium sized white head. Sweet, light citrus hops. Earthy. Slightly sweet, grainy and touches of caramel. Grainy, too sweet, hops are buried. Caramel and light grapefruit on the finish.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear orange/yellow color with a nice 2 finger white head. Aroma is floral with notes of citrus and hops. Taste is very fruity, with mango, grapefruit and orange notes, and a nice malt presence in the background.

12oz bottle. Pours hazy and golden amber with a light frothy head. Citrus hints are commanding and ever present. Lively Palate, but the taste is a little common to standard beers than high end IPA. Overall: my opinion, better than average IPA but not to be mentioned with better craft IPAs. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Appearance is cloudy with brown medium head. Looking closely I can see chunks of reside like squeezed lemonade. Taste is bitter strong grapefruit with moderate maltyness. I can taste the high alcohol.

Think it was a 355 mL bottle, but I’ve no idea from where I got it. Smells the part, with lots of resin. Flavour not so much, but it’s not bad. I expect more from a double.

Bottle, BBOTM. Hazy amber with white head. Bread pudding, fruit, a little tropical and citrus aroma. Dry-ish bitter, a little sour-fruitiness and bubblegum taste. Medium-bodied, long bitter finish, mildly carbonated.

Pours a deep translucent amber color with a small white head. Strong scent of floral and lemongrass. Flavors of malt, lemongrass, and hops. Strong alcohol taste. Pretty good double IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at home. Hazy amber pour. Aroma is citrus and floral hops, and quite sweet. Full bodied, cloyingly sweet, bracingly bitter. A solid kick of booze on the finish. Average DIPA.

A - Hazy amber copper with a whipped white head. Excellent retention. Solid hills of lacing on the glass. S - Lemon zest and pine, doughy caramel, stone fruit, grapefruit comes out as it warms. T - Pine mixed with lemon. Sweet caramel malt holds up well against the herbal evergreen hops. White peaches. Finishes crisp and bitter. Grapefruit and shows up in the aftertaste. M - Full and creamy, heavy carbonation. Full hop flavor as well as good bitterness. Hops dominate the malt. Very tasty. The best so far from the brewery. Serving type: on-tap 02-23-2011

Bottle from Total Wine in Jensen Beach. Pours a coppery orange with a white head leaving terrific lacing. Aroma has grapefruit and pine with a strong resinous presence. Very simcoe-hoppy forward. Taste has sweet hops, grapefruit and pine. Some caramel solidly underneath but this one is about the hops. Very bitter and slightly salty through the mouthfeel. Medium to full bodied, and a bit rough and sticky. A nice IIPA from an inconsistent brewer.

On tap at World of Beer Naperville. Bitter bite that got more balanced as it warmed. Pallette wrecker for sure but a nice brew. One of tge better offerings ive tasted from this brewery.
