3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Was over at my buddies when I had this and the only glassware he had was a small weizen glass.
Color is an orange copper. Pours a thick tan head that is very complex. Leaves some really nice lacing.
Smell is of carmel malts with earthy/pine hops. Taste is obviously hoppy. Floral pine notes and hints of carmel. I really couldn’t even tell that this was 9.2% abv.
Mouthfeel is awesome. It starts out very smooth and then gets just slightly bitter. Finally, when it goes down, it is very creamy with a slight hint of bitterness. Very well carbonated.
Overall, this is one tasty double. At 9.2%, this thing is very easy to drink. This is a well balanced IPA and it is not extremely bitter, which was a nice surprise. I highly recommend.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from a 12oz bottle - with no date on it.
Aroma - very orangey aroma - not my style, let’s see what the taste brings
Appearance - Hazy orange color.
Taste - hmmm, not my forte. Perhaps it is the age of the bottle, or maybe.
Palate - lingering taste, might be the best attribute of the beer.
Overall - Possibly too old for me, but overall too orangey for me. M

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours an amber-golden color with a short, quickly dissipating off-white head. Good balance of malty and hop characters. Big body. Smooth with a fudge of some carbination burn. Drinks like a DIPA. Malty, but not too much. A very good balance between the malt and hop flavor profiles. Pretty good.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a deep hazy orange color with a one finger soft foamy white head that dissipated within about a minute. The lacing was spotty and messy.
The smell was dried grapefruit peel with a light bitter lemon and it acted upon a light oily earthy hoppiness.
The taste was somewhat sweet and somewhat bitter at different times throughout the beer. It never seemed combined and thorough.
The palate consisted of a delicate bitter hop base (yes, I say delicate, whoah, delicate for an DIPA, yikes, where’s the harshness I long desire for). However, I must admit the oiliness came in on my tongue to make it somewhat slick.
Overall, interesting DIPA, would I have this again? Honestly, with all of the DIPA’s on the market, I don’t think I’d seek this one out but probably wouldn’t turn it down if this was all that was offered.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured from the bottle of a 4-pack into my antique "Old Style" 7 ounce bar glass my late father probably stole from a local gin mill. This one was all over the place, one drink tasted sweet, the next bitter, and a bit gritty at the finish. Being a double IPA I was expecting it to be more bold, but instead was quite drinkable, and more pleasing to the tongue than most of the strong beers I’ve had. Usually I would say I wished it came in a six pack but I think for my own protection I’m glad they did a 4 on this one. If you like being really buzzed without all the pesky liquid bloating that 72oz. of beer might cause, then run out and get yourself a 4 of the 471!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. bottle. Pour is a vibrant orangish gold, hazy with a finger of off-white head, which dissipates to a a tight lacy ring. Aroma is huge citrus with ripe orange, pineapple and grapefruit. Nice earthy hops in give nose as well. Flavor is sweet with ripe tropical fruits and a spicy, sneaky bitterness which comes after a few seconds. This is definitely a floral DIPA but has a nice earthy bitterness to balance out the sweet citrus. Nice dryness in between sips, just a trace if bitterness and sweetness lingers to make you want the next sip. Pretty good stuff.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Light amber with long lasting frothy white head. Rich resinous aroma. Taste- rich malt and ample piney, resinous hops. Caramel, dark fruit malt notes. A decent 2IPA.
