Pours a clear very dark brown. Some light gets through, but not much. Big full very light tan head. Nose has a vinous character. Delicious sweet dark toasted malt flavor that has a pleasant sourness to it that the nose indicated. There is also the presence of roasted nuts and dried dark fruit. Not a brown in a traditional English way, but certainly an interesting and enjoyable brew!

Dark brown pour, off white fluffy head. A nice caramel malty aroma, and more in the taste with some chocolate flavor thrown in. A nice and enjoyable brown ale.

Aroma is fruit/berries, malts and perfumed. The flavor is malts, mild sweetness and then a long and tart finish.

Bottle from Vintage Cellar. Pours dark brown with a creamy/fizzy light tan head. Aromas of roasted malt and dark fruit. Or nuts and vanilla. Probably. Very smooth. There’s nut and chocolate. And I think vanilla. Though not all that sweet, nor bitter, it’s like eating cake in a way. Tho having just chewed up some jalapenos my taste may be off. Finishes fairly chocolate.

This beer has a frity undertome to it. Not what I’m looking for in a nut brown. Pours a deep dark rich brown which lead me on the think this was going to be something special. Little bit of a let down.

Bottle shared at the Big Black Beer Bash 2011. Don’t know who brought it, but thanks! Pours a cloudy dark brown color with a small khaki head. Lots of roasted malts in the aroma, along with some nuts, chocolate, and sweet caramel. Flavor is more of the same, with the sweet caramel coming in earlier, followed by roastier malts, chocolate, nuts, and toast. Medium-bodied, with medium carbonation and a roasty mouthfeel. Very ncie brown ale.

This was a great little brown ale. Honey sweet aroma that is almost borderline nutty. Some tasty chocolate notes, along with a malt profile that remindsme of honey roasted peanut butter, spread over some dark wheat bread, with the smallest bit of fruitiness on the side. Tasty! butterscotch,

A: The pour is a nice dark brown color with some light red highlights to it. A big off-white head forms with the pour.
S: Nice and malty with plenty of toffee and nutty character on the nose. Perhaps a hint of chocolate and caramel, too.
T: Nuts and toffee right up front with maybe just a hint of acidity for some unknown reason. Perhaps it’s the subtle fruit flavors I detect. In any case, fairly sweet and malt forward, like a brown ale should be.
M: The body is medium with a lively carbonation to the beer.
D: A pretty nice beer overall. Good flavor and aroma profiles, and easy to drink.
