Pours a very dark brown with a 1 finger dark tan head. Smell is of dark chocolate, roasted malts, molasses, slight coffee, and some roasted nuttiness. Taste is sweet big chocolate, toasty malts, and ..... figs/raisins. Mouth feel is fairly thick, creamy, and a little oily. This is a very good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at home. Jet black pour, minimal head. Aroma is sweet chocolate, coffee, creme brulee. Very sweet throughout, deep roast flavors, lactic, very sweet finish, with a slight twang of acidity. Pretty good, but one is enough.

Aroma of dark roasted malts, milk chocolate, with hints of coffee and dark fruit. Pours a dark brown with no head or lacing. The taste is sweet milk chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, dark fruit, with bread/grain and a satisfying bitter finish. Medium body and medium carbonation. Oveall, well done - I wish that it had a fuller body to accompany the wonderful robust full taste.

There were two new ones from Breckenridge in the local supermarket today, so I picked up a four pack of this one. Maybe tomorrow I’ll grab a sixer of the other one (some sort of holiday ale type thing? we’ll see). But as I like this brewery quite a bit (especially their oatmeal stout, which I buy regularly), I figured might as well start with the stout. Good beer in all aspects, appearance, flavor, aroma, body,, mouthfeel, finish, worthy of the Breckenridge name, and meets my pretty high expectations for them as well. It’s black with a pretty good head that doesn’t disappear right away. Roasty and chocolate notes dominate the flavor and aroma, along with some coffee, and a considerable milk-chocolate component, more than I expected (but that’s fine, my expectations are sometimes off base, and after all, it is a milk stout). The body is nice and thick, good and chewy, which is how I like my oatmeal, sweet, and usually other forms of stout. You really need a knife and fork here, the body is as full or beyond that of any similarly styled beer I"ve tried. Overall, it’s a well done beer, very enjoyable. I’ll have to pick up some more of this one soon.
