4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours an opaque black with tan 1 finger head that quickly dissipates with little lacing. Prominent roasted malt with very clear flavors of dark chocolate and background of espresso and a subtle hint of tobacco. Surprising hint of pine hops. Full bodied with medium carbonation (would be great on a nitrogen tap, I bet!) Long, medium bitter finish where I appreciate more tobacco and earthy tones. This is a fantastic stout that is not overwhelming in chocolate, but still the dominant idea put forth.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Chocolate, coffee, butterscotch, bourbon barrel, vanilla, and smoke flavors. Creamy, sweet, lightly carbonated, and has a dry finish. It wasn’t as thick at I was expecting.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This pours very flat with no head at all, and the aroma is strong chocolate. The flavor is milk chocolate, a little coffee, kind of a latte thing going on. It’s very smooth, and the slightly north of seven percent ABV doesn’t show up in the taste at all. This thing is too sweet for me and I won’t buy it again, but I cannot say that I didn’t enjoy most of it.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours fairly pitch black color with a 1-2 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Good soapy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, toast, bread, and dark fruitiness. Ok aromas, but are quite muted and overly fruity. Taste of milk chocolate, toast, biscuit, roasted malt, caramel, raisin, prune, and light herbal. Lingering notes of chocolate, toast, caramel, roasted malt, dark fruits, and herbal on the finish for a good bit. Pretty good flavor balance, but not as roasted as I was expecting; with a bit too much fruitiness. Minimal cloying sweetness. Medium carbonation and body; with a nice creamy and slightly slick mouthfeel. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming after the finish noticed. Overall this is a decent cream stout. Was not anywhere near what I was expecting in flavor profile for a stout(and I just looked on their site and there is no roasted malts whatsoever, so there is my answer). A fairly enjoyable offering though.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle, unknown date. Served at around 45F.
Pours black with a one finger brown head that quickly recedes to a wispy cap and ring, despite the minimal head it leaves some nice spotty lacing behind.
Aroma is roasted malts, some cocoa and chocolate, coffee, some dark fruits, herbal hops. Not super-chocolaty on the nose. Moderate strength.
Flavor is milk chocolate, cocoa, some dark chocolate as well, roasted malts, dark fruits, some coffee, quite sweet but short of being cloying, minimal alcohol.
Mouthfeel is medium-plus bodied, sticky, good carbonation.
Tasty chocolate stout. Aroma is lacking, flavor makes up for it.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pour is a black with a small tan head. Aroma is deffinatly chocolate malt with some heavy sweetness. Flavor is again a chocolate with a decent but not over the top sweetness. Finish has a decent silky chocolate left on the tounge after the swallow. This was a decent beer from Breckenridge.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, at my own damn house.
Pours basically black with a small but well retained head.
The aroma is sweet, but not overly sugary, plenty of coffee and roastiness. The beer has a nice dark chocolate aroma, smells like it’s going to be one big burly beer.
The flavor is fine, but it just doesn’t cash the check that the aroma promised. Sure the coffee and the chocolate are there, and they’re nice, but they’re playing second fiddle to raisins & vinous notes. The beer is nicely sweet, fairly well balanced (at least in the more pleasant parts) & has a very enjoyable level of roasty malt bitterness.
The beer has a very pleasant viscosity & the carbonation level seems pretty low.
