3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dense black under a lovely espresso hued head that is an easy finger thick which fades into a thin collar with no remaining head. Swirls with a few spots but no more fluff in the middle.
Vanilla, cream, and fudge. Burnt and tarry in the back. Fudge and cocoa. Melted chocolate. Rich and rustic. Vanilla bean mingles with toasted marshmallow.
Creamy milk chocolate. Vanilla and cream. Chocolate leads from the front into the middle. Gently bitter finish with more dark chocolate esters. Chocolate graham crackers in my breath. A little bit of tartness and sweetness in the back reveals itself as chocolate covered raisins and chocolate covered cherries – fresh, not canned or store bought. Cream is the wonderful glue that holds everything together. Deliciously sessionable. Toasted marshmallow in the middle.
A lovely delicious creamy chocolaty roasty stout from the fine folks at Breckenridge Brewery. I haven’t had a bad beer from them yet and I doubt I ever will. This particular offering is a limited seasonal so get it while you can because it’ll be a long thirsty wait for its next release.

The aroma is cocoa powder, little else. The appearance is deep black, light tan head. The flavor is cocoa powder, brown sugar, molasses. The finish is chocolate, sweet, roasty. Medium/thick in body. Good. Just a bit too much chocolate.

Surprisingly good chocolate beer from FlandersNed in Warren. He added this one in July 2012 and I received in December. Really nice chocolate pudding flavour, that went well with my chocolate brunch. Dark chocolate bodied with a nice head. Very drinkable. One of the better ones I have had from them.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Bine & Vine. Pours dark brown/black with a slight dark tan foamy head. Aroma is sort of (to borrow from a rating below) chocolate milkshake. Near full bodied. Flavor is treacle, dark chocolate, dark malt. It’s sweet and bitter. Sort of goes bitter dark chocolate in the finish. It’s extremely tasty.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a finger of light brown head, settles quickly with minimal lacing. Aroma is chocolatey, roasted malt, dark malt, sweet, roasted oatmeal, moderate alcohol. Flavor is dark malt, chocolate, sweet (lactose), slightly nutty, with a mild to moderate alcohol finish. Mellow chocolate and sweet throughout. Alcohol could be better masked, isn’t that high of ABV but manages to come across a little boozy. But I might have drank it a little warm for a sweet stout. Soft carbonation, medium body, smooth texture, and a mildly warming finish.

Draft. Really well beer all the way from start to finish. Complex malt aroma on the palate as well. Nice hint of chocolate.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle. Imperial at 7.2%? Brown-black body, ruby red edges. Oily beige head fades aways. Creamy, smooth and sweet. Lots of milk chocolate, cocoa tones, milkshake. Clean on the palate, not much bitterness at all. Pretty straightforward, but well executed and enjoyable.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle pours an opaque dark brown/black with a moderate but evanescent tan head and good rings of lacing. Aroma has chocolate, roasted malts, cream and oatmeal. Body is medium to full.with only slight carbonation. Taste is sweet all the way through with the roasted malts dominating the finish. Mouthfeel is creamy. One of the better beers from Breckenridge. Not a bad stout, but not one of the great ones, and certainly not an Imperial Stout, despite the name and cool picture.

Aroma of roast malt and chocolate. Flavor is sweet with a good amount of chocolate. Kind of a dessert beer. Might go well with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
